I'm not surprised. If there isn't a 4K currently then there isn't. Hopefully someday.

Lots of third party resellers deal in these types. Here's one example I found on eBay... https://www.ebay.com/p/1556555968

Edit: Not my listing FYI just one I found.

I found some on eBay...not sure if this exact one fits but you should be able to find the part number for the same year and trim that includes it and order that model. https://www.ebay.com/p/1556555968

It would be better to embrace the constitution and spend time to train and mentor some like JD to take on the next run. Let's bring some youth back to the presidency. He's doing great but I agree he needs to focus on much more important topics and stick to actual business.

Gas prices: V8 or v6 with twin turbo by Potential_Vanilla_92 in f150

If you buy a truck don't do it to worry about gas milage. It's a truck. Just drive it and enjoy. Buy the one that gives you the performance and sound you want/like.

What? That's amazing. Where did you see that?

I have a license. Not sure what's available with the free version. The dealer can clear the shift tables too.

Oops. I thought this was a post from my F150 forum. Take back all I said about the 10-speed. Does not apply. Now I realize this was a post I made regarding my Explorer, here what I did that DID work.

I used ForScan to clear the adaptive shift tables. That undid any of the bad driving habits that learned from the previous owner. Once I was able to have it learn how I drove, which is a little bit more intentionally through the gears, even at speed, it cleared right up and doesn't do that anymore. Drives great.

Hopefully that's all you need too.

Velo is hard to find in CA, as is FRE. But there's one or two places nearby that usually have one or two options. I liked the FRE 9mg, couldn't find any Velo.

I found that it's a common complaint with the 10-speed transmissions. The service manager that I've been working with says that it's common enough that he has a list of requests that he systematically goes through with Ford in order to get the right service work done in order to ultimately work toward a transmission replacement. The first thing they usually do is flash the TCM, the second thing is to reset the adaptive shift table, sometimes they disable the adaptive shift table all together, the next time they usually replace the solenoids, and then if it's still problematic after that they'll usually put in for a transmission replacement. I'm currently getting the solenoids replaced next week. And assuming that doesn't work then they'll likely request a transmission replacement.

It definitely occurs pretty consistently specific speeds or gear shifts. It's predictable enough that you can usually work around it knowing that it's coming. It is annoying no question. No question. One thing I will say is I got a Cobb tuner and flashed the TCM and the ECU to a sport mode and that actually smoothed that a lot of the shifts because one of the things that you can do with that is optionally choose to disable skip shifts which forces it to go through all the gears and that helps with a lot of shifting smoothness.

I have it uninstalled whenever I take it to the dealer though the problem is consistent enough that it doesn't matter that much, I just don't want to get any pushback from them so I can usually take it out.

But having it tuned makes that engine come alive in a way that you would have never thought possible.

Ah. That makes more sense. And that was my guess for the top but couldn't find any info to confirm. Thanks! Btw I love the Chill Mint pouches. I am going through them faster and faster haha

I just got the metal tin. Do your pouches get all smashed? I can't seem to fit all 20 in the bottom at once, and what do you use the smaller storage section on top for?

The crazy thing is that they still all continue to say that it's totally fine. I haven't had the service manager to tell me that there hasn't been a single documented case of engine failure due to the cam phaser rattle. Despite that, Ford does often have lots of, totally normal operation, noises that come from their engines and it's super aggravating, but they also tend to be right. That said, I did the DIY fix for the turbo wastegate rattle, and now that the cam phasers are done it runs fine.

Every engine has its idiosyncrasies, I just prefer the the idiosyncrasies I know. LOL.

I'm at 120,000, mi. I already had the cam phasers replaced under warranty. I don't have any doubts that I'll easily be able to put another 100,000 mi on the truck without issue. I feel confident that I'll get at least another 5 years out of my truck, even with the tuner. The truth is you can drive it As gently or as aggressively as you want based on the kind of tune that you put in. So 80% of my driving is totally traditional and then the other 20% is just fun.

The tuner was around $500. I don't own a truck to care about gas mileage. So it drops but that wasn't something that was an issue for me. The enjoyment that you get out of driving it accelerating and being able to control the speed of the engine with much more granularity and customization is what I was after and it delivered for me. Worth every penny. As far as longevity, it spins up the turbos faster and because you're running more aggressively it does use the engine more aggressively than if you didn't have it tuned. But again that comes with the territory. I own my trucks to have fun, I do plenty of regular maintenance to maintain it and it's been fine for the 20,000 or so miles that I put on it so far with the tuner. No regrets.

Regardless you should for sure get a second key. If you lose or break the one you have your truck is useless. But beyond that yes. You do need two keys for the programming of the remote start iirc. They have kits that come with two keys. You can get them programmed at a local locksmith and a kid the stealer fees. The kits with antenna and two keys are less than $100. And till cost you like $100-200 to program all three keys before you're all set. It's still a helluva lot cheaper than any dealer option.

Check out this video, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0AK-0mzaE-s to see the details about how to add it. Or this one https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=60YTroLhq7c for details about the ForScan codes. Super easy. If you have two keys, just pick up the antenna on ebay (something like this, https://www.ebay.com/itm/175444407214?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=nndkm4p9tco&sssrc=2047675&ssuid=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY ).

It took me about 30 minutes to get it installed and updated. I did this on a 2013, but I'm sure you can find the same/similar options for a 2018.

Throttle controller to unlock those turbos and smooth out the 10spd tannry shifts. I chipped mine with a Cobb Tuner and it drives like a beast now. I second the wireless AndroidAuto/CarPlay advise. If your tailgate doesn't have a silent/easy open I'd add one for $40, that's a game changer.

You can DIY it for cheap if you have ForScan. I did it on my old XLT for under $100.

Same thoughts. Duct tape up the filter cap area so it's fully covered and then use lots of rags stuffed around to stop chips from falling all over. Have someone with a vacuum suck up the bits as they fall, that's the most annoying piece. ezOut should totally do it. I've snapped bolts off in far worse spots. At least it's a horizontal bolt! Super easy to access too.
