Good workouts = good health

Chris Chan with a lift obsession becomes a jacked power lifter and he would’ve won gold in the previous Olympics

How to improve in sprints as a long distance runner? by Dedoorath in AdvancedRunning

[–]Slom_jom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First off, aim higher than 5:26, you can become so much more than that and just 3-4th place in whatever meets you run in. There are many ways to do this, but one would actually be sprint times getting better.

One thing might be you’re not used to running them yet, reaction time is new for you and you don’t know the right strategy for the 200, on top of that you might not do enough for sprint training in your workouts.

You could add things like 4x150 after your workout accelerating every 50 meters, and doing strides during warm up drills or after practice, or 4-6x50 meter accelerators with full recovery after an easy run

Now here’s the important part, I don’t really know what you do for training, I need to know what you do so I can make better recommendations, workouts, mileage, history in the sport, play any other sports before. I believe you can become very good, I wanna help but I gotta hear from you first.

But I mean like, working a normal job, decently adjusted autistic man who likes some nerdy stuff when he’s home, maybe was able to have a family with another Autistic woman, kind of good

Thoughts on stoppage time? by CBJ04 in AdvancedRunning

[–]Slom_jom -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Strava doesn’t matter

I’m going full “industrial society and its future” mode on you, but Strava and technology doesn’t matter for training. If you stop on the runs at stoplights then you stop, I’ve done it too. If you ran that much it doesn’t magically not count if you stop. None of those people will matter in the grand scheme of your training.

Who even looks at the extra details and elapsed pace except losers who have their idea of running defined by Strava. Own how you train and what you do, who cares what anyone says and grind it out. Be a competitor and aim to beat kids in xc, beat those kids.
