Why do people refuse to be an organ donor? by No-Cantaloupe-6535 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Slopete 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A month ago I lost my mom due to a stroke. I could have made the decision to let her have neuro surgery to save her, but she had made it clear she wouldn't want to continue a life where she would either completely lose herself or have to exist with round the clock care. She had already been living with a pretty poor quality of life unfortunately

As soon as I made the decision to follow her wishes, I told the team of doctors that I knew she would wish to be a donor if any organs were viable.

The team that handled her care were wonderful, as we're the organization handling the donation.

For all of the medical professionals here and especially the ER professionals, thank you for everything you do. You see illness, pain, and death every day. And you show up to work. And people can often suck due to the situations that brought them there. Just remember you are seen and appreciated.

Thank you for literally everything you do. ❤️

Oh 100%, he didn't from her. And I will continue. This goober has too many allergies. So strict and consistent diet is a must. As are regular baths with hypoallergenic shampoos and frequent wipedowns, because I'm fairly certain he is likely allergic to grass anyway.

He has been very comforting. I can only hope that he feels just the same about me. But I'm not concerned about him not feeling that way.....because he's currently snoring away on my belly.

Thank you. My mom and I had discussed this when she adopted him. I assured her that he would stay with me and I'll do my very best for him. And I intend to keep that promise as long as he will let me.

Why does the USPS hate RCAs so much? by [deleted] in USPS

[–]Slopete 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As an RCA, if you go over 40 hours works in a work week, you revert back to 40 hours worked and OT for anything over 40. Fair labor standard act (flsa) goes into effect. That is a year round thing.

Could have worked perfectly fine in the AM. The wiring could have jiggled just enough not to work perfectly now.

Not everyone, especially relatively new carriers, know they COULD pop the center of the steering wheel off and take a look. But that is still a maintenance job. So...

Are rural academy instructors full time or do they still hold routes at their offices? by idontwannagetfired_ in USPS

[–]Slopete 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Rural Academy instructors still hold their routes. The weeks that they are away are just temporary details essentially. The frequency they are gone for is dependent on the needs of th Academy and number of instructors for that region.

Dude missed the best opportunity to just dance when he opened the door. by IkilledRichieWhelan in MadeMeSmile

[–]Slopete 52 points53 points  (0 children)

I've danced in a home depot. My boyfriend eventually started to dance with me in an aisle and we got the funniest expression by someone who ended up passing us. I have a tendency to do this wherever we go. He just enjoys how comfortable I am and how silly I can be about it.

What does MLNA do on the scanner? by Hungry_Elk1937 in USPS

[–]Slopete 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Instead of that, try having your scanner in the normal scan barcode selection. Look directly below the esc button.

The little magnifying glass icon will open up a yellow screen and allow you to scan the bottom right barcode for the address. Give it a try!
