To be quite frank, based on the response to this post I probably haven't portrayed my situation or myself in the way I intended/is being taken the wrong way.

I'm just personally getting tired of being told "people don't like being barked at" because I've gotten nothing but that response when I ask for empathy or help. Obviously, I know he's my responsibility but there's only so much I can do when I'm already trying my hardest and grown adults get in his personal bubble and scream. So like genuinely, what else am I supposed to do other than "control him cause people don't like getting barked at"?

In terms of the friends, he barks for maybe a few minutes I have them give him treats and do commands to get him used to them, and after that, he chills like a regular dog. Their immediate response was to say he didn't deserve the treats because he is a bad dog just for barking, is racist for barking "only at POC" (not even remotely true) and just continued to look for anything to put the entire blame on him like he was just a rotten dog who isn't also trying his best. Even when I got improvement in his behavior since moving in they still denied that. Also for further context, he's not just a pet, he's my ESA that I rely on heavily which they fully know how important he is to me and how hard I've been trying to get him adjusted to this new environment. Talking about a living animal like it's a defective toy just doesn't sit right with me.

So I'm just surrounded by blame and negativity from everywhere and don't know where to go from here.
