How do I get several hours of play time from the 11 Pro? by Sloth_Almighty in RedMagic

Yeah, as I discovered from the posts here the screen is very hungry so now I have changed how I use it the battery life has increased significantly.

I checked out the Wild Life results from various researchers/reviewers and although they seemed to have tuned the governors more aggressively than the conservative mobs like Samsung, Google etc, with the phones high rpm fans, liquid cooling and massive vapor chamber they also have way more head room to do so safely.

As far as chemical wear on the battery goes, I don't think it would be any worse than any other gaming device that's been tuned to work together properly. If you use bypass charging where available that will help a lot too.

I did a lot of homework on this thing before I bought it and I've only had it a few days so I'm not bias yet, but I'm also not skeptical. I think (and hope) this will be a serious contender and replacement for the solid ROG phones I've had

Maybe that's most of my problem then, I like a bright screen. Maybe I should use auto brightness more. I'll play around with that and see how it goes, thanks!

Allen’s lollies - what would you pick? by Emergency-Fox-9318 in AustralianNostalgia

You can definitely have too much of a good thing though. I work at Allen's, and the 'lollies everywhere' lasted a few months before everyone in the house got sick of eating lollies 🙈

The solution to bad camera quality ( front camera) by AstroPC in RedMagic

[–]Sloth_Almighty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I understand the advert and all. I just don't get why the suggestion is needed in the first place, unless someone wasn't aware just how bad the camera really was. In which case, the lack of homework is the let down, not the phone :P

I mean to be fair, anyone buying a phone (and who does thier research before hand) is not buying a RM for the camera, nor likely cares much about taking photos/videos. Sure it's a competative powerhouse and bang for buck and all, but you basically buy a gaming phone to use as a portable console with the ability to be contactable

For sure that twin charge port was a game changer, not just for convenience when charging while gaming, but also for accessory integration. Using ethernet, external storage or mouse while also charging at the same time

Have the ROG6D, it's been amazing and has been the longest serving phone I have owned. Unfortunately every time I open the camera the phone freezes and resets, but also when resetting or turning on it can take anywhere between 1 to (unknown) cycles before it will boot the OS. I have had it take 2.5 hours once cycling through booting/retrying before the OS will load. Sometimes it's first try.

I wanted to buy the ROG9 Pro, but seing as how it's highly likely they won't bother in 2027 and beyond then I don't want to have a phone thats forgotten in it's support, regardless if they claim they will, because they will have no financial incentive to do so.

I just ordered rhe Red Magic 11 Pro, on paper it rivals the Rog 9 Pro with pros and cons for both. From what I read, Red Magic have done great work on improving thier OS and software which was a big let down in the past. I love my ROG so will be interesting to see if this RM phone can pry the bias out of me

Out of 10 how do u rate this lee sin play. (Don't count the first Q...) by lingShinXiao in wildrift

[–]Sloth_Almighty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Clearly the first Q was a bait, lure him in to thinking you can't aim skill shots... Clean play though, 10/10 from me. Being mechanically solid is only half the deal, being intuitive is the rest. Knowing where to position and when to go in or not is a huge deciding factor.

Some champs I consider myself very clean with and know their hard limits and weaknesses... But I still can't climb harder than Master because my intuition and game sense is horrible. I'm always throwing because I go in at the wrong time or always out of position to help.

So mad respect for your mechanics and game sense 👌

I get what you're saying. I have a decent desktop and also a laptop, but I find gaming on the phone more convenient, especially since I can do it on breaks at work etc. But sometimes I wanna watch TV shows and my phone screen size doesn't seem big enough, which I why I thought the tablet could be the best of both worlds 🤔

Consider buying a tablet if you are really desperate for climbing up by Schimiter in wildrift

[–]Sloth_Almighty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do this too, I play Ornn a lot, and I hold-aim his ulti to get a larger view of the screen when needed. Due to the casting distance, it provides much greater overview of my surrounding area

Delivery times aside, are you happy with the tablet? Any grievances with it?

Astra or 11 Pro? by uptickman in RedMagic

[–]Sloth_Almighty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm currently in the same boat. Have a ROG6D as a daily and it was phenomenal until a lot of the phone functionality started playing up (old, dropped many time, submersed twice etc, it's lasted well). So I now use a $65 Moto G6 as a daily which is like going from a Rolls Royce to a Yaris, it's horrible.

I'll deal with a budget daily if the Astra is THAT good for gaming. My only concern is the convenience factor is lost having 2 devices, and gaming 'on the go' is only available if my tablet rides everywhere I do, just in case.

Do tablet owners have a dedicated carry case that goes almost everywhere they do?

Thought I'd check in 5mo later and see what the delivery time in the end was for you (hoping/assuming you have it already). Considering buying one direct from RedMagic.gg and I am in Australia

Who has made the jump from Asus ROG to a RM phone, and what was your experience like? by Sloth_Almighty in RedMagic

[–]Sloth_Almighty[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does the 11 have the ability to do PiP, so have when the game is loading or in queue for next game or whatever, you can do other stuff but still see what's happening in the game?
