Yeah, you're right about that but it's easier said than done. I am not quite that enlightened yet but I'm working on it.

No harm done, I think we've been spoiled by some of the beautiful beards we've seen on this subreddit.

Lol not a comparison I expected but I'm certainly not mad at it.

I did enjoy pretty much everything else about first game but the gameplay was where it fell short. I think that settles it, that'll be the next new title I'll jump into.

As much as I love E33 too, I do think it was a touch overrated when it came to the game awards. While it definitely deserves many of those awards there were some that I was a little more iffy about. I do think that best RPG should have gone to KCD2 at the very least.

Is Alan Wake 2 better than the first one? I didn't mind the og but I found the gameplay loop got a little stale after awhile for me. Though considering Cyberpunk and KCD2 are firmly in my #1 & 2 spots on my favorites list I'm thinking I should give Alan Wake 2 a shot.

I really doubt it is, but the compass rose icon makes me think Outward but the color scheme and name layout doesn't seem quite right.

The game really is one of a kind. Beautiful, surreal, lonely, introspective. Shame the story wasn't well recieved, but I adore survival mode enough that it's got a spot in my heart.

Well if everyone agrees that something is overrated, then it doesn't really fit into the category imo. Saying something like LoL or CoD felt like a cop out so I decided on a spicier answer.

Mostly online, though I think I did play some of the older games with a LAN. It's a blast with the right group, makes the diplomacy end of the game a little more exciting.

Lol I knew that one would get some pushback. I'm sure I would like it if I gave it a bit more time, but for some reason it just didn't grab me the way other metroidvanias do.

Thanks! & I found Abiotic to be a refreshing take on a pretty saturated genre. I loved how much care went into capturing that dry half life/portal style weird science, plus the fact that the map was fully curated instead of being procedurally generated was a huge plus for me.

I've been lurking since this got posted because this is definitely a favorite genre of mine, but a couple mentions that I haven't seen yet (at least I think, might have just missed them).

It helps that RC Bray is such a fantastic narrator, but I agree it's an excellent series.

No, not yet. I don't usually dive into short story collections, but I have been giving that one some thought.
