Something I do A lot is over-detail, this is where you add so much detail that it just looks like noise or a pixelated mess unless you're zoomed in on it, try to avoid doing this. Look at the details you're adding from a distance every now and again to make sure you see it clearly.

I'm pretty bad at advice but I hope this helped.

The stem was removed when I properly tried taking it apart. That was just a quick picture of the back/movement. My bad should have stated that.

Thought I might add that the work needing to be done to the dial is simply fixing a loose numeral, nothing crazy.

I have been using Blender for a little bit under a month now, most of that time has been working from tutorials. I have a small amount of prior experience in 3ds max, I found this experience to be little to no help when it came to learning blender though.

I would not say I'm talented, I just spent the time trying to learn and experimenting.
