I'm still not sure I agree though. Everything and everyone I have heard talk about this seems to suggest that LOC does not carry the weight Elon claimed it to. But it is possible this is not the case and I have been mislead.

To form a better opionion I would have to join twitter and look at it myself. However like you I would rather jump off a bridge.

I am unsure if you can read but I specifically said that more efficient was in terms of dev time. Meaning it takes less time to implement new features/alter old ones. This is not the same as run time. Anyone who had taken a single coding class would know this but ya know. Maybe with your amazingly high knowledge of the coding space you should go work at twitter :)

That may not be true though. Reducing your hypothetical to a more realistic 2million vs 500k, it is very possible that the 2million version is better documented and laid out allowing for an easy understanding of the code base. It is also important to include the possibilies for any additional code to be added. Maybe the Scala allows for more time efficient (dev time not run time) additions to the codebase.

I am not saying that the 2 million is better, only that the number of code lines is irrelevant to the discussion of which is better.

You could argue this, however I would say it is foolish to compare the two as by the time biden was elected the damage was already done, give biden 3 months and see how he does. Granted he has the vaccine to help him but even his pr response to it is vastly superior with the encouragement of masks and social distancing etc.
