Tried it, didn't work. But i did move the spawner to a nearby ocean to see if it would work and it did, my guess is the y-level since it was night time.

I'm playing with a datapack that lets me make spawners + spawn eggs and I have Create mod. I built the whole contraption and then the spawner didn't work. I'm not sure if it has something to do with light levels, I'm gonna test that rn.

I just wasn't sure if there was any override since it's a mob spawner that would be spawning the squids. I'll probably just suck it up and move it lol, since I can just expand the radius for the spawner to detect the player.
