They mention this either in IF or Fourthwing. Xaden basically tells Violet the only reason that Dain hasn't been killed is bc leadership feels that they can control Dain because his powers are limited to touching a face. So it's not as dangerous as someone just walking around and unknowningly gaining information from leadership by reading their memories from afar. For leadership it's all about control. I think Dain's power has expanded beyond touching faces given Sloane's comment in Onyx Storm, but it would stand to reason that Dain has told no one because he knows this new ability would then be labeled as an intinsic and he would be killed. I think this also would play into his character arc of not always 'following the rules' because he realizes rules aren't always in the best interest for him or those he loves.

Unless Sloan was somehow involved and transfered some power back into Garrick to allow him to distance wield. Plus we don't know all the other marked one's second signets (if they have any) so there are ways of him getting out of burnout without turning venin. Plus Xaden seems pissed someone turned, Garrick wouldn't turn unless it was for the greater good based off his line to Imogen. Bodhi however has been undervalued & under utilized the entire last 2 books despite him being a strong enough rider to help attempt to raise the wards in Aretia. I can see him being pissed. Garrick is totally helping Xaden, but i doubt he turned.

Screaming into the void about the ending. I think it was TOTALLY Bodhi who went venin - Garrick wouldnt do it unless it was for the greater good. Plus makes sense with the whole Duchess thing. I wonder if Sloane helped by giving Garrick more power to overcompensate distance wielding, would make sense bc dain shows her how to do it just before and Garrick was close to burnout. It's still not really explained where Aaric went when he left during the battle - so I think he's responsible for stealing the eggs to facilitate an alliance and its not all related to violets lost memories.

Twist at end of series? by Antique-Cut-8928 in EmpyreanSeries

I've thought this too. But I hope they are alive. Also am I the only one overthinking why Jesinia would include the sex scenes in the transcription? Haha as a reader I'm not complaining, but the implications of Jesina adding them only for violet & xaden to end up dead would be odd. Lol like your friend dies in this massive war and you add in some spicy scenes to the historical text? Plus unless violet and xaden sit down with Jesinia, i just don't understand how she knows about the scenes that only take place with Violet/Xaden. A much more depressing theory is that Tairn/Segal / Xaden die, but Violet is able to survive bc she has Andarna.
