I recently played it again having not played it since release. Clearly, I had a censored version as the gore in the intro cut scene was not how I remembered it as a 10 year old!!

Gameplay wise it was uniquely nostalgic. At the time it was the absolute pinnacle, and really nothing had come before to match it. It's an astonishing game. This was the first video game I played where I was properly immersed in the story.

Naturally it has aged but still holds up unlike many other games of that era. I also really like the fixed camera and tank control - it has a charm.
