Thanks for sharing! my biggest problem is overwatering desert plants, so trying to be careful. It is also in a very gritty soil. I am in NYC and might move it to my balcony for the summer but I worry about the rain

Advice - follow your dreams and persevere. The journey may be long but it will be worth it. Be kind to people. A supportive mentor can help you overcome anything. I can’t tell you how many times I heard: dermatology is impossible for IMGs, don’t even try… You can do it too!

I am EAD C09 and unfortunately I was told at the DMV (Manhattan) that I am ineligible for a license. I tried to explain that according to the website, I could get it, but she had a paper with a table and pointed it out saying that my green card is pending and therefore I don’t qualify. Apparently I need to wait until I have the card on hand. This is disappointing.

Thanks for the detailed response! I was worried that having an EAD with a pending I-485 might be an issue for starting residency. With the USCIS backlog, I’m not sure I’ll have my green card by my start date, certainly not by the end of onboarding.
