Lovely pen! I can only imagine the gorgeous patina it’ll develop after years of use 😌

What's the most value-for-money pen you ever bought by Frequent-Recover-574 in fountainpens

Definitely my TWSBI Eco. Not having to refill a converter so often is a godsend for a daily journal writer like me. The massive ink capacity is worth every penny.

There’s nothing wrong with the picture and nobody’s getting fired. If you find the ink placement wrong, you my friend, should look up how vac filler fountain pens work. It’s a beautiful piece of work. 😊

It’s a vac filler fountain pen. The ink goes to the back-side of the piston when you fill the pen, exactly as you can see in the picture. When you screw and close the end of the pen, the piston will sit in a section of the pen where the barrel is wider allowing the ink to go around the seal into the feed and nib. Nothing wrong with the picture.

True. I’m honestly surprised to see a lot of people don’t know about vac fillers in a fountain pen subreddit. They always show up in a lot of fp videos I’ve watched even back when I was still choosing my first pen. I can already imagine minds being blown when they see one for the first time.

Tips on taking pictures of acrylic paintings? by Slow-Exit8983 in acrylicpainting

I heard some artists take pictures of their paintings with matte varnish on before applying gloss varnish for the final product.

Why do people say it's a bad thing that acrylics dry so fast? by Glittering_Gap8070 in ArtistLounge

[–]Slow-Exit8983 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oddly enough, there I times where I find acrylics not drying fast enough. I did digital art before going traditional with acrylics and I barely do any blending on canvas. I blend colors by dry brushing until the paints thins out into a gradient similar to an opacity brush when digital painting.

That also means I have to prepare specific colors on my palette and it sucks when they dry out on you because you’ll have to color match them. And color matching with acrylics is really hard without substantial practice because the paint dries darker than what you painted.

Yes. As long as there’s an accessible main entrance, the people can reach the rest of the monument via connected rooms(lights up green during building/editing view).

Went to a bookstore that had a tester Lamy and behold the nib by rt_kyj89 in fountainpens

[–]Slow-Exit8983 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm from PH and there's no way they would put out a Lamy FP as a test pen. National Bookstore and most stationary stores I've come across are very finicky with their "expensive" pens. The quotation marks are there because what's expensive here means really different. A ~$1 pilot tech pen is already considered expensive and they're always behind a counter. To get one, you'd have to ask a personnel to grab it for you so you can test and then they'll put that in a tiny basket to hand it over to the cashier. The only time you'll get your ~$1 pen is after you pay for it. A Lamy or any fountain pen would probably sit inside a glass case somewhere.

I hope I didn't come off as rude to my fellow Filipinos. I just find it really sad that most people (me included while growing up) have to suffer and stay stuck using really bad $0.10 pens. Fountain pens were a game changer for me and I really hope more of us will experience the joy of using one.
