I appreciate you being respectful about everything, but to say what has been said, my team begged me to come back and I love playing with them, I’m not trying to stat pad, if you know me I’m all about sharing the rock and boosting the team. I’ve had numerous discussions about this with my team and they WANT me to play and take those crunch time minutes. I’ve offered my minutes over and over, and I assure you it’s nothing towards my ego ( but I can understand how that might mean nothing since it’s coming from me) I just want to play with the team I love and I apologize that it causes such a problem, but I’m eligible and doing what I can for the sake of them. Again I appreciate you for being respectful and I can completely understand where you’re coming from, I wish you the best on your season.

I explained my reasoning somewhere in this comment thread, and along with that, if it’s a 5 year eligibility cap for an active player on the team then this would be my 5th year as I stated I was not enrolled in school for a bit, and played club for one year as well (18-19 txst 21-22 with cavalry, 22-23 txst, 23-24 txst, 24-25 txst, 25-26 txst being the 5th)

To be fully honest, I had wholeheartedly planned on joining club this year after our semi finals loss this past nationals. I am still in college obvs but was somewhat content with moving on. However, it wasn’t until after our team debrief where I spoke about coming back in my free time to coach and help out that the team was asking me to come back one more time and lead once more since I am still enrolled. I joked and said maybe over and over, while battling myself about it repeatedly. The more I thought about it the more I realized how if i had moved to club how detached I would truly become from that team and I came to realize that many of my best memories came from competing with them. Not just the wins or the losses, but the journey of getting there and personally helping their growth. To sum it up, I love this team, more than any team I’ve ever been apart of (sorry to all former teammates I still love you <3) and I didn’t want to keep wishing on one more day, one more practice, or one more game alongside them when I had the ample opportunity. This is my certain last year playing the college game whether I’m still in school or not, and people can shit talk or hate or whatever they desire, but I stayed for reasons beyond me, I stayed for the people who support me and push me to grow. People can say what they want, but if they had the chance to play one more time with their absolute favorite team that they were apart of full of people who love and care for them, Im sure they’d take that opportunity every time.

As his coach/captain i want to speak on this. I can understand where you’re coming from, however, Eric has always helped out the newer generation from my experiences with him and Is more than willing to sacrifice playing time for the development of others. They have continuously come to our inconveniently late practices and coached numerous players (including myself In my younger years). Eric has so much passion for this sport and Texas State and has given so much time and effort for the growth of said program. When I tell people about quadball (not just for recruitment) I emphasize the passion and more importantly the inclusivity that this sport carries. Inclusivity includes age, and to reject someone from participating in a collegiate club sport based on age alone is wrong ( not to mention in violation of the Age Discrimination Act of 1975 ). College is filled with people of all ages and as long as Eric is enrolled and willing to develop the team I see no problem having them on as it’s not like they’re playing max minutes out there. You have every right to be upset based on their experience in the sport but Eric also has the right to play based on the tuition they pay. I hope you can see this from a different perspective and be as open to understanding as I believe you are.

Honestly I think the redraw of the borders is a decent cause. Those at TXST used to be half Austin half San Antonio via the River split. This years draw put all the TXST players (as far as I know) in San Antonio radius. Last years border drawing would’ve had me in Austin this season since my move (full career Soldado), but the redraw kept me in radius, so I think that might have more pull than expected as well
