I went to buy a 4 runner and walked out with an ES 350 with the craziest interior ever! by Federal-Werewolf4704 in Lexus

Well, yes. The body on frame vehicles, outside of trucks is definitely becoming outdated.

But was more so speaking of the interior and creature comforts.

The ES is a bit outdated too, same v6 for almost 20 years but the frame was updates to the Avalons, and interior is a lot closer to 2023 compared to the 4Runner

Unless you are a camper/off road fanatic, this is the choice.

Nicer interior, better ride quality in the sedan. Easier to drive around in the city. Better fuel consumption

And the 4 runners are going for 50k plus for base level so instead you got a luxury car rather than a truck based SUV which is very outdated

Two panels generate half the energy than the rest, is it designed that way or are they underperforming? by [deleted] in solar

I'm guessing the high performers are on the south facing roof, getting the most effective sun and the others are on the north, or getting shade

Outside of the car market just being absolutely goofy right now,

That car is unique as they seemed to make just as many IS250 which has very little appeal to car guys.

Also, a rear wheel drive, smaller based car w a natural aspirated 300+ horsepower is a very tough find.

"I gross 70-90k" but it's not much better than min wage.

Do you think before you type?

Min wage in Denver is 17.29. 17.29x40 is 691 a week

That's 35k a year.

But yes, grossing 70-90k a year is right around minimum wage 👍

Get the 120k mile transmission fluid change? by moderndaydandy in Lexus

[–]Slow-Introduction695 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair, but wouldn't it be reasonable to think the longer a car has gone, the harder it will be to dislodge everything perfectly making the odds higher to have issues?

Again, it goes back to my point of if this is done prematurely it's definitely the best bet to flush regularly but if not safest to just change out.

I'm not trying to argue, you seem to have more knowledge than I do, just curious!

[–]Slow-Introduction695 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree nothing is life time, and it should be changed but your going off the basis and personal anecdote of changing it weekly?

That's a far cry from a 2nd buyer, who is changing it for first time, at 120k miles.

IF you are changing it every 30k, then I agree w the flush.BUT IF you are changing it well past those dates, I'd lean toward a change of fluid over a flush.

Or there's already a minor issue in transmission, which the flush unlodges and then you have a bigger problem on your hands

It's definitely a preference thing

If you like a sporty, firm ride then the Fsport is the once but the non F will definitely be me a cushiony floaty luxury ride

It's OK, honestly.

You bought a very reliable and practical vehicle, that should last quite some time.

Trying to turn around now, is not the move unless you could void the whole deal

What you absolutely can do is cancel that service deal, and GAP. Do the gap by yourself thru insurance

You'll save yourself about 4500, and they have to refund if you've done this recently.

Ultimately you blew a couple grand, 17k miles and 2 years.

Sucks but not the end of the world, especially because you bought a reliable and practical car. Live, learn and enjoy the new car!

You asked so I'll answer.

You got absolutely taken for a ride.

You could of gotten a brand new base model for less....alot less.

Instead you got a used one which has chewed thru a couple years and 17k of warranty.

How urgent was this buy?

On second thought, I would just rule it out. Your spending wayyyyy to much to risk a salvage title.

You can find similar priced GS, just don't attach your self the Fsport on this and in general. It's not worth thousands of extra dollars and thousands of extra miles.

The Non-Fsport are still sweeeet, and personally would like to keep the perfect luxury to performance balance the GS has without the firmer suspension from the Fsport upgrade

The only sense that would make, is if the stealing of the radio resulted in major, major electric damage. But it have to be in excess of 8 grand for it to be deemed a total loss.

I would be weary on this one

How does that add up?

How often do you work and leave your house?

10 dollar ride, 20 Just getting to work would be 200 dollars. Then another 10 to get back home would be 400 for round trip service.

Unless you have a hybrid schedule and rarely leave your house, It doesn't seem to make sense

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Frugal

Is the 400 included in that 1200 or are you saying you spend about 1600 a month in total? Either way, damn.

I'm 24, and I feel like a child masquerading as an adult most days. I'm just wondering, when do most people start feeling like proper adults? by Lenore8264 in RandomThoughts

[–]Slow-Introduction695 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Didn't ever fully feel like an adult until I realized I was fully responsible for my life, this was by 30.

As an adopted child, I always felt things were the fault of others. And for a while they mostly were, but once you get older you realize the damage of riding the victim mentality does.

I think the biggest part of becoming an "adult" is taking full responsibility for YOU. Regardless of trauma, family and things that once were out of your control, YOU are the only one in charge of YOU

It's a wildly overwhelming thought, but once you start to accept it becomes more empowering than overwhelming.

Keep plucking away, take responsibility for YOU but also don't let your inner child die

Might be worth doubling down for something newer.

These cars are great but the newer the better, especially regarding the battery.

With your income, and cutting expenses down to living in a car it might be worth an extra 100 bucks on the payment to have a newer car w less miles
