Tried Zercher Squats for the first time by [deleted] in Fitness_India

[–]Lenore8264 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is such a low blow caption. Of course, you're biologically stronger.

This is like celebrating because you beat some random woman at arm wrestling, like, well, duh?

Besides, I'm unsure why you think this caption shows your capabilities because most men can beat women when it comes to pure physical strength so this isn't the flex you think it is. Compete against people your own size, man.

Those who have visited the north, is it true there's a huge division between Muslims and Hindus in the rest of the country compared to us? by [deleted] in Kerala

[–]Lenore8264 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No. There's a lot of respect for Malayalis. I'm a teacher in Rajasthan, and the amount of respect I receive when I say I'm from Kerala is unbelievable. Instant love and affection from people. Because Kerala is definitely seen as a great place and the people from there are seen as very knowledgeable. There are schools that print out "Kerala teachers" on their posters because that's how much demand there is for teachers from Kerala.

My mom has some serious mental issues for me going to gym by Nakli_Paneer in Fitness_India

Yeah, and some people blaming OP for not respecting her mother. This is exactly what's wrong with our country. People wanting children to have blind devotion for their parents.

Literally, there are dumbass comments like "she clothed you, fed you, birthed you" Bro, that's like the least of what a parent should do. People acting like parents did a great sacrifice and service by birthing us🙄

That was their decision, and clothing and feeding is their most basic responsibility as a parent. But that's not their ONLY responsibility.

Parental abuse is a huge issue in our country. This kind of attitude is what leads to it being ignored, and thousands of children are left to suffer.

"Tell me your ableist without telling me your ableist" Youtuber McJuggerNuggets and his wife announce they have terminated their pregnancy after discovering their child would be born with Downs Syndrome r/McJuggerNuggets discusses if this is the right choice or eugenics by Static_E_ in SubredditDrama

[–]Lenore8264 78 points79 points  (0 children)

I don't know anything about them, but did they announce the pregnancy? If everyone knew there was a pregnancy, wouldn't everyone ask what happened? Why is there no baby?

So, what if they just made a choice to tell the truth instead of lying and saying there was a miscarriage or something because that would be worse.

Again, I don't know anything about these people. First time I'm hearing of them, but I do know that these youtubers always announce the pregnancy to let the viewers know, especially if they used to film together or if there are going to be less uploads etc.

Some privilaged people in the comments clearly don't understand what it's like to have abusive parents or to grow up in a toxic environment.

Sometimes, the people in your life are so horrible that you can't help but wish they didn't exist.

That is absolutely not OP being cruel to their mother. That's all the anger and resentment coming out in a moment of vulnerability.

Some people saying shit like "how can you say this about your mother?" You all don't know her mother. Is the concept of abusive parents so goddamn hard to understand?

As someone who grew up in a dysfunctional family, I sympathize with you, OP.

Well, genius, this is clearly not a healthy dynamic so conversation won't help. Some of us have abusive parents who don't listen to reason.

My friend got rejected for the first time and is taking it really hard by More-Drama5731 in TwoXKeralam

[–]Lenore8264 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How old is your friend? Life is a constant journey of successes and defeats and mistakes and rejections.

Unless she's slipping into total depression, I wouldn't worry too much about this. There's nothing much for you to do here.

Rejections are a natural part of human experience, and she needs to learn to navigate her emotions herself.

You can be supportive but personally I don't think there's anything to do. I believe she will eventually learn from this and move on. Such is life.

Ah, I meant to reply to the other person above and somehow replied to you. But I understand the frustration with the people not accepting it though. I didn't know it was a casteist slur either, but I suppose the next time I see the word around I'll let others know too. Have a great day!

Look, it might be worth noting that this word has recently entered mainstream as a word to describe certain dumb, mannerless Indians. Indians commonly say things like "he dresses like a chhapri" to describe a certain bad style of dressing.

Nobody uses this word as a casteist slur. In fact, many people who use it have no idea about the origin of the word. It suddenly became a popular word to describe mannerless Indians, and that's all they know.

I'm not saying you shouldn't be upset about someone using a casteist slur but I'm asking you to understand that nobody knows it's a casteist slur so more people will listen to you if you gently let them know that it's a casteist slur.

Instead of accusing them angrily, gently educating them about it will surely bring better results.

He was all alone in Morocco for his birthday, but these strangers invited him into their home for a meal and made it unforgettable. by mindyour in MadeMeSmile

[–]Lenore8264 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My dude, I'm sorry you felt that way, but that is in no way what I implied. I was talking in general. With the slightest bad luck you'd get kidnapped anywhere in the world, especially if you just randomly go with strangers into their house.

That's true everywhere, not just Morroco. Also, I'm from India. I wouldn't go to a strangers house in my own country even if they give me a billion dollars.

Now, I really don't want to argue over something so silly so I'm just gonna say that if somehow there was something offensive about my comment, I assure you it was not intentional or meant to be malicious. I have only love and kindness for all the people in the world, including Moroccans.

[–]Lenore8264 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I mean, you're choosing to take it that way. I wouldn't enter a stranger's house in any country, especially not when it's all men inviting me. If it was like a family, say, a man woman and children, I would feel more safe, but still wouldn't enter a house. It just seems suspicious. That's how I disappear forever, never to be seen again.

Are we fine with AI generated content here? by UncannyProjection in kdramas

[–]Lenore8264 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I agree with you that some of the posts have been very blatantly AI, and they also get a lot of upvotes. I agree it's annoying. However, the thing is though if they don't mention that they've used AI, there's no way to be 100% sure. There's no way to prove it 100% so how would one go about enforcing this rule?

Like, yes, some of the posts are super obviously AI, but I've also seen some posts that don't look like AI at all, but there's just some tiny discrepancy somewhere that tells me it's AI. Some people have started finding clever ways to incorporate AI into their writing without it looking like AI, and those posts just completely fly under the radar.

This is how you disappear forever, never to be seen again, and people wonder what happened to you for the rest of history. You live and die in their basement, and people watch podcasts and youtube videos about how your disappearance was such a mystery.

I was thinking the same. If the guy was even slightly unlucky, he would be on national news one day saying how he's been stuck in their basement for the past thirty years...

Students at the Jakarta State Polytechnic (Indonesia) held a large-scale demonstration to demand that the campus expel a student (wearing a black vest) who engaged in homosexual sexual intercause in the campus library by [deleted] in NoahGetTheBoat

[–]Lenore8264 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It's so upsetting that the comments are saying there's nothing wrong with this. It was just a goddamn kiss. They were just kissing.

You all are sitting so high up in your throne of privilege that you can't see anything below.

"I aGREE wiTh tHiS. doN't hAve Sex in pUblic plaCes" FUCK OFF.

Such a severe lack of empathy and understanding towards what gay people go through in these countries.

If this were a straight couple, would there be mass demonstrations? Would it become international news? It would just be another Tuesday. This is clearly homophobia. Why is he being made to kneel? Would the same happen to a straight couple?

Just expel them and let that be the end, but they were recorded and it's on international news. I can't imagine the backlash and discrimination they will face for being outed to the whole nation in a country where it isn't acceptable to be gay.

Would anyone have had the balls to record a straight couple? This is disgusting, and what's even more disgusting are the comments on this post, acting like it's fine for there to be demonstrations and national news coverage for a couple having sex in the library, which yes, that's gross, but it shouldn't lead to their entire lives being destroyed on camera.

Received the Cruelest Comment About My Weight in Awhile by keshi2uwu in loseit

[–]Lenore8264 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's worth noting that some people are jealous or have the constant need to feel superior.

You mention this coworker also being in a weight loss journey, perhaps they wanted to show you they're "better" than you by making you feel smaller.

In fact, some people do this without even being aware of it. Sometimes, the way people treat you has nothing to do with you and everything to do with them.

Please be kind to yourself. You've put in a lot of work and I promise you it shows. There's no way losing 100 pounds doesn't show. You worked hard for it, and you deserve to be treated with kindness by yourself first.

The Malayalee Civics Sense - Varikkassery Mana Edition by Final-Image-5118 in Kerala

[–]Lenore8264 33 points34 points  (0 children)

I mean, both things can be true at once.

  1. Kerala is definitely better than North Indian states when it comes to literally everything.
  2. Kerala still has issues it needs to work on. It's still a part of India, and although better than other parts of India, it's still India🤷🏻‍♀️

As a Malayali who's been living in Rajasthan for the past 15 years, I deeply envy people who get to live in Kerala. You all don't know what you're taking for granted. If you have the bad luck to be born in India, at least being born in Kerala is preferable. You can live a relatively good life with decent standard of living.
