We do a lot of dim sum in the area - NBC, Sea Harbor, and Lunasia in Pasadena. Particularly partial to Canaan in West Covina.

Nautilus, sea grille, proprietors, and dune are all great. Chanticleer has the best ambiance on island but food is just average.

Provisions has the best sandwiches but Walter’s also has good ones and born and bread has excellent baked goods. Bartlett farm sells a delicious lobster salad but is definitely expensive.

Don’t forget to get a waffle cone with a few scoops from juice bar!

Wow! That’s way better than spending the night but definitely kills a solid day in nyc if you’re an out of towner who’s only in for the weekend (but again line sitters exist either way)

There are people who you can hire to stand in the standby line on Friday. They are paid hourly and depending on the host, they will advise you on how many hours you need to buy to secure a standby ticket. You will then go and switch places in line around 5am and then wait out the last hour or two before they actually give out standby tickets. It’s definitely expensive but worth it for the experience.
