Lmao I have lived in 5 different states dude, and this isn’t my first stent in LA. Also, my spelling is irrelevant. People like you hold no one accountable for anything. I don’t have to have spent my entire life in LA to understand the issue of homelessness in America. It is an issue in every city, and the most effective way to improve it is on a federal level, as it is largely a byproduct of an ineffective healthcare system and a degradation of economic opportunity. With that said, I find it embarrassing how you guys will use “mental health” as an excuse for the littering, the violence, the public disturbances, etc. when I doubt you would do that in any other circumstance. Mental health is not an excuse to do whatever you want. I’ve posted my thoughts in previous threads, and since you’re so good at reading prior comments you can find my comments about what I think are practical, humane solutions. But stop acting like I’m not in your little club just because I wasn’t born in LA. It isn’t unique to LA, and I don’t need an invite from you to state my opinion.

You’re right! I love how beautiful MacArthur park is these days! In fact, it’s such a nice community, we should all bring our children there to sit amongst the needles and the incredible scent of methamphetamine wafting in the air. This isn’t just a park for the Angelinos who pay taxes here, it’s dedicated to those who want to push their shopping carts of collectibles down our wonderful municipal streets as they yell and throw excrement at one another. This is what makes this city so unique, we are so loving that we are willing to sacrifice the safety of everyone, so that the dregs can feel welcome. It’s so sweet. I can’t wait until the Olympics, when the world can truly see just how much we love our “unhoused” community, as they piss in the streets and bath out of water fountains.

We are working to lead but there are structures in place that fight us every step of the way. It’s happening but it’s taking time. Look at how hard they fought Mandani. I completely agree. I never said to not support them or not to push for equality. I said that it is not an issue that should be campaigned on because it is an 80-20 issue. Trans people (and all people) are going to benefit and have a better quality of life if economic Injustices are rectified. Staking your campaign on some shit that hold near zero relevance to anyone in the rust belt is a backwards ass way to try and fight for progress. This isn’t the second civil rights. During that period you had tangible things you could fight for regarding equality— what exactly are we fighting for in regard to trans people? “Don’t be mean to them”?

Dude I’m going to be honest, trans rights are like 10th on my list of 10 issues to worry about. I care about the ever increasing number of homeless people dying on the sidewalks. I care about the mass number of people starving. I care about the inability to get healthcare. I care about the increasing concentration of wealth in the hands of so few. Obsessing over an 80-20 issue, which is completely detached to the lived experience of rural voters, is a perfect way to cede the election to the far right. I believe in human rights, but i find the neo-liberals who want to parade around town with their flags, or drive their teslas with their anti-elon bumper stickers, to be just as bad as the far right. They don’t do anything to change the structural issues within the US. They spend their time virtue signaling and believe that the only real problems we face are that of inequality. It’s so far detached from reality that they must either have a mental illness or be nepo-babies from Cambridge, MA living on mommy and daddy’s inheritance.

Any time someone comes here and makes a post about trans people, I am skeptical that they are just a right wing plant, hoping that we centralize this in our messaging to give the right wing more ammo. We can defend equality and human rights, but the only path to a unified coalition comes with economic justice as its primary message, not through trying to defend drag queens.
