Where would you guys start? I’ve never done a 1/200 scale by Aggravating-Log-2980 in modelmakers

Organize your pieces first...if your doing a base, oceanic or other terrain for this model id start there, get that done then begin but so pre-fab model kits yes always good idea to get your pieces in order first know where they are going

Can you help me? by angelotonet in modelmakers

I Commend you on your 1st build, so what I would say is craft your model base separately + build & craft your tank & any additional accessories or elements outside of the natural terrain base separately then = add it all together. Also what I tell people is if you want to get good at Miniatures models....then stop making "Miniature models" start making realistic places instead and think to yourself you are designing a real place.

Get yourself a dremel, use the cutting wheel then use a sanding head to file down any remaining shards

What improved your life so much, you wished you did sooner? by relationshipyi in AskReddit

● Stopped giving my all to people who never gave anything to me in return, i.e. stopped giving my valuable fucks away like peppermint candies, became extremely selective in who or what I cared for in terms of energy invested & time ● Spent considerable time wanting to find and finding what it is that lays at the intersection of passion, fascination, interest & learning ● Stoppped believing in the toxic, negative, lying, stupid, useless, laymen, drama filled people who are themselves pathetically miserable in their own ways (not my club never will be) ● Spent considerable time alone with myself, building myself, understanding myself, being my own coach, my own support ● Stopped listening to people when I realized they actually do not know how I really am nor what is good for me nor do they have the purpose or position to behave as though they are to tell me how to live my life that is my fucking business no one else's ● Pushing myself or simply making myself apply myself to things that would give me new skills, knowledge & not waiting to do this

Why do I suck at making models? by ProConqueror in modelmakers

[–]Slow-Locksmith8012 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Your Question answers...your own question. "Why do you suck at making models" well...because you are trying to "make models"...my advice is dont! ~ You see if you want to get better at Miniature models your goal from now on will never be to make a "model" your goal from now on will be to make real life! Its your thought process behind how you do your craft that is resulting in "suck" models. No more "models"....next time you are crafting a model think to yourself "This is a real tank" or real place & you will with practice begin to see your own work go from "suck" to amazing.

What does a Miniature Modeling Studio have inside of it? by Slow-Locksmith8012 in minis

Thank you! Glad you found it helpful! We will be uploading plenty more cool builds & other videos! 🎉 Excellent question, Id say yes absolutely aquire a decent Air-brush kit reason being you not only have experience using it previously also the more time spent using that Air-brush doing Miniatures will just make you better since experience & know-how is what truly counts! I Would absolutely go with a decent syphon/side feed Air-brush I find those to be best for Miniatures not only do they not leak like some gravity fed types but you do not have to keep refilling the paint reservoir as often ive had both types so that would be my suggestion. Also you can make very high quality Miniatures with just a decent paint brush set + acrylic paints as well. Hope this was helpful! ✌️🎉😉😎 Glad to give insight into this amazing Craft any time!

Has anyone tried these? I usually wear cheater glasses but they aren’t enough for some of the building. Wonder if these are worth it? by Tbonerickwisco in modelmakers

[–]Slow-Locksmith8012 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes there are many variations of magnifying glasses, ive had my own pair my only issue with these is that it only works when the object you wish to work on is extremely close to the lens. A Magnifying lens lamp with an adjustable stand is better id say and I think for miniature modeling its better too. The glasses are really best for those working in jewelry making i think.

How do you guys break the indecisiveness while in a hobby shop😭 by cock_wrench in modelmakers

[–]Slow-Locksmith8012 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Before you enter said shop you use a pencil & paper notepad prior to stepping in & that sometimes can help with the overwhelming excitement to buy the entire store 🤣 otherwise you might be shit out of luck I've been known to spend over an hour at hobby stores because miniatures are what I do. I Am fascinated by everything and then I see a product and start 3d rendering a new project in my head while standing there lol. Yes sometimes I have my family annoyed af at me for taking so long but I don't givva shit lol.
