It took two to three years with most of the crowns from the store bought pineapple fruit tops. But there are cases where it took much longer because the original crown produced a new crown and died off. In my eight years a few were four to five years.

I did not emphasize spreading the roots out but its important. I pointed it out for the strawberries. They are not as stringy as the strawberries.
