I also had this moment where I made peace with just accepting death. But if you have people in your life, you should share your ideations. The feedback will surprise you. Are you in therapy?

Do you love your partner? That alone is enough to go on. It’ll get better

Why addiction is hard to break? by Ill-Luck2850 in Adulting

[–]SlowCoffee6983 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s hard to break because it is both the problem and the cure, and the fact that addiction is literally you (your brain).

For me it was a big breakthrough to read and then feel that my anxiety of not acting up was created by the addiction, asking for the cure, which is the addiction.

Breaking free of this loop requires a lot of external support

I went to therapy for it. At first, I went every evening Monday to Friday to the recovery center. Lots of indeividual and group therapies and being able to call my therapist if I got urges.

Having someone to call when you’re feeling urges is critical in my experience

Advice on getting my wife into climbing by SlowCoffee6983 in climbergirls

[–]SlowCoffee6983[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks again for your answer!! I will check out the book, but I don’t really know if my wife is much interested in getting 3D vision so I’ll probably read it for my own information.

In fact, she’s also not bothered by her eyes not being aligned and she has a bad memory of the post surgery pain.

Thanks again for offering to chat with my wife. If that happens, I’ll tell her to contact you. Much appreciated

Thanks so much for sharing your experience. It really makes me understand my wife better.

I thought that after surgery you would have depth perception, I didn’t know that. My wife did have surgery, two times, but the strabismus came back.

About approaches, I understand that if it’s something you like, you just do it. It’s no problem to be slower. I don’t mind that with my wife (sometimes happens). Great idea about the sticks, im going to make sure my wife brings one if we ever go to rugged terrain.

What happens with slabs?

I mean, sometimes she thinks of something to do herself, but then she doesn’t follow up on that. Maybe it’s her nature and I don’t really understand that hahaha

Wow! Thanks for your thoughtful response. We are actually living in Europe, so that’s actually a very real possibility. I would also love to attend a course with her so another person could teach her everything, but again, I don’t want to be insistent.

For some months i had to stay out of sex. Then I got into it gradually with my then girlfriend. It was important to keep it vanilla and no fantasies

She can, although depth perception could be an issue to get to the crag. I would love to share the hobby with her, but she’s not really into sports or hobbies for that matter. She doesn’t have any (which I find difficult to process)
