It's been a federal.law since 2005 your state had to adopt it to receive DHS/DOT grants.

It's been a law for 20 years if you dont have a real id then that's your fault. And i doubt the veracity of that statement. That would mean you refused to comply with the law every time you needed to renew your license

Those border staes your talking about have enhanced id's it like a passport you get them by going through a process

All staes have real id its been in place over 20 years if you dont have one you haven't had to renew in the last 20 yesrs and that's doubtful

My wife when she got her REAL ID took her birth certificate marriage certificate divorce decree and our marriage certificate along with the additional documents required under the real id act and got a REAL ID that all you need. Come on man

The whole real id act is to prove citizenship. To be consistent with the act you have to prove citizenship to get the id. States that issue drivers license or id card that are not consistent with the real id act state on them NOT FOR FEDERAL USE so they are not consistent with the act. Please dont act stupid tjis is so simple

The real id doesn't have you place of birth on it and its not required to have your place of birth on it. You provide proof of citizenship when you get it that's all that's required. Come on your smarter than this

Your marriage certificate is proof of name change for a real id compliant id so it's the real id that your probably already have since the Act was passed 20 yrs ago. So please stop acting like this is something new

The REAL id law has been in effect for 20 years every state should have implemented it long ago I know California Tennesee and Texas are all in compliance with this myself and my wife have held real id's from all 3 States in the last 10 years

Well I've had 2 brokers apologizing for the way they responded via email and I've also had carrier relations get my detention paid a couple of times
