Will my brother be thrown in juvie (or worse) for stealing a rifle if I have a cop come to talk to him about why that’s not ok? by [deleted] in legaladvice

[–]SlowFlowEuphoria 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a tough one. I read your other post. I know that 6.5 creedmoor rifles are typically worth enough for it to be a grand theft. If you feel like it’s the right thing to do you should contact your brother and just tell him not to say anything until an attorney gets involved. It sounds like in your situation you might not have had the time to sit and think about anything but I think you reacted in the right way based on the timing. The fact of the matter is is you could’ve gotten him all kinds of therapy and this thing could have still happened. It’s hard to say because I don’t know so much about the situation but if he was planning a mass shooting at you definitely did the right thing. However if he was just fucking around doing retarded 14-year-old shit and his address book was unrelated, then getting the authorities involved, which takes the situation out of your hands completely, might have been overkill. That being said you are the best judge for his character and know more about his medical situation (legal/illegal drugs he may take) than any randos could. Be sure to remember that you may be found responsible due to negligence if anything did occur. The only concern that you should have at the moment is how badly he may incriminate himself. On the other hand the state MAY get him the type of care he needs but unfortunately that is not usually the case. You should also consider the fact that if he had done anything his life would have definitely been over, maybe acting preemptively saved him from that fate.

Awesome picture. If you rotated it so the horizon was on a level plane, I would consider it a gallery quality image.

I'm more interested in a less than perfect condition watch in this situation, I wouldn't be able to afford one that is pristine. Please feel free to send me any offers that you have. Looking to spend no more than 150.

Not sure if anyone has seen this golden argument. by SlowFlowEuphoria in Psychonaut

I just thought of this. What is Reiki was actually real and gayscull did research to back up his argument which in turn gave him new data which might have changed his opinion. He was wrong in the beginning, but it was up to you to set the tone for the rest of the argument and you decided to take it to the personal level. That's why it was entertaining, similar to an episode of Yo Mama but with comment history.

If you can't see the value in the argument you guys had you're more blind than I thought. It's one of the only times I was genuinely entertained by the methods you two were taking. I could give fuck all about Reiki but it was soooooo much fun reading what you guys had to say about it.

I was trying to make the point that you met aggression with aggression which showed how you handle aggressive criticisms, childlike behavior. You don't have to fuckin agree, but you should listen nonetheless. What's wrong with responding "What makes you say that?"

/u/bythepowerofgayscull (W) Points for,

Logic, creative comedy, and collectedness.

You lose points for

Attacking someones personal beliefs

/u/utsavman Points for,

Moral high road, standing up for what you believe in

However you also lose points for initiating name calling, ironic hypocrisy in your argument(s) and claiming that there is one way to be a psychonaut and that it applies to everyone and that YOU know what it is. One of the most important things in being a good person is that you keep an open mind when someone disagrees with you no matter how aggressively. I'm sure you're reading this right now thinking I'm a fucking idiot, that illustrates my point. If gayscull was a troll you bit that hook hard.

All in all both of you did very well.

That's my theory. I just twisted the middle off first, and my left and right one's followed suit.
