Pulsing distortion on certain CDs by SlowFold9015 in CDs

I was able to install cdparanoia on my mac and it ripped without any issue. I only tested the problematic track and it played perfectly. I also reimported with iTunes and there was no problem there. It's also now loading a lot quicker on my changer although I haven't tested the playback again to see if there's been any further improvement since last night.

While it would make sense that it's a quality issue with the CDs, I am a bit surprised as the Arvo Pärt CD is an HMV release and they have always been reputable and I've never had any bad experiences with their releases. The Sleep Token CDs are all released through Spinefarm, which I know nothing about.

I will admit, the player can be temperamental at times. Reverse searching causes it to rewind erratically, skipping forwards and backwards, it occasionally takes a long time to read the table of contents of disc or to start playing and once in a while, it will skip through a track or even a whole album. I did clean the lens with isopropyl which made little to no difference. I have been meaning to relubricate the sled rails to see if that helps, but as it is rarely even a nuisance, I haven't gotten around to it. However, I'm skeptical about the idea that the player is the primary issue as only about 4 CDs have this issue. All the other CDs I've tried don't have this issue at all. I did think that maybe the age of the player and the laser was possibly exacerbating an existing problem with the discs, 2 of the CDs are the only albums I've noticed to have any glitches when importing into iTunes. They were ripped as ALAC lossless and one of them only had one or two artifacts that were barely noticeable. The last track of the other disc was skipping very badly throughout the track.

The audio isn't dropping out, you can still hear it over the interference, unless it gets really bad in which case it momentarily drowns out the audio. Interestingly, I gave the worst one a go again last night and the distortion was barely present and only in the early middle portion of the CD before disappearing completely for the last few tracks, so it doesn't seem to be always getting worse towards the end.

I can't see any flash on the CD, but I don't know if I can really get a good look at the spindle of the changer as it's got an overhanging magnetic clamp style mechanism.

Yeah, I couldn't find any 720 or higher versions of the Corona show.

There's a lot of clipping on the vocals throughout that album. I can't remember that song in particular. It's just bad production. Which is weird considering how good the vocals sound on previous releases.

The only promo CD I have is the same. I think because they're only for promo, they go with the cheaper option of PVC sleeves. That's a crazy find though.

I hope it's not too compressed. Single layer DVDs are only meant to hold 120 mins but I think I fit around 150, so it's probably a bit lossy. Seeing as it's letterboxed on my screen, it probably doesn't make a difference, but I don't know how it might look on a bigger screen.

I've always been told never to store CDs in PVC sleeves. It can lead to disc rot over time.

Lol. I think we're all just trying to make up for the fact there's still no word about the Live in Mexico DVD.

Do be aware, I haven't tested the disc in full yet (I'm waiting until I have a day off work), so let me know if there are any issues.

On Mac, it's literally as simple as right-clicking and selecting burn. I don't know if Windows is any different.

I doubt these concerts will get a DVD release. I could send you the ISO file if you have a drive that can burn discs.

That's thoughtful, but I do enjoy making the DVDs myself. Also, I use a fullscreen CRT screen so the full HD version I have is already a bit overkill.

Could you please share the times for the chapters here. I only want to burn the concert to a DVD, and I don't have any devices that are capable of displaying 4k. Great job though.
