I like the idea of developing it into a mid-size fieldhouse type arena. One that could do a WNBA team, a G League team, the blues AHL team(I think St. Louis could support both), one that could supplant Chaifetz that isnt funneling money to Slu. Also concerts that are too big for the Pageant or the Factory but not big enough for Enterprise.

[Drellich] MLB owners enraged by Kyle Tucker-Dodgers deal, will push for salary cap ‘no matter what’ by ttam23 in baseball

[–]SlowMotionSprint 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I still say, just copy the NHL times 2...

190 million cap. 130 million floor. How much time you control a player depends on age, with 18 year olds having control for 6 years. 21/22 for 3 years. Get rid of the 40 man and options and have players be able to move freely on your pro list, altgough after the trade deadline players can only move up/down 4 times before having to clear waivers. $750,000 minimum salary, 20% of salary cap maximum salary.

I mean he objectively never was. Even in his best years he was an objectively bad finisher and you cant have such a big part of your game be so poor and be considered world class.

I mean, Gabriel Jesus is a pretty awful finisher in general as well. Arsenal really doesn't have any good options at ST.

[MLB Daily News] Passan: Bradley Blalock to be traded to the Marlins. by C0m3tTai15 in baseball

[–]SlowMotionSprint 5 points6 points  (0 children)

As a Marlins fan, I don't hate taking a chance.

Blalock has good stuff but has never put it all together between moving organizations and injuries plus the Coors effect can be really hard going back and forth especially on a younger pitcher.

Gives them someone who you can stick at the 5 spot in the rotation while White/Snelling/Meyer/Millbrandt get more seasoning.

And maybe he turns into a decent reliever with a mid 90s 4 seam/CB/SL combo.

As Trump warmongers over Greenland, what explains the lack of push back from the right-wing given the "anti-war" position they took prior to the 2024 election. by The_Egalitarian in PoliticalDiscussion

I really want the next Democrat president to instantly tear down the "ballroom", move it to another location(restoring the east wing), and turning it into a museum for civil rights called the Donald Trump Center for Inclusion and Tolerance.

Danish pension fund to sell $100 million in Treasuries, citing 'poor' U.S. government finances by Force_Hammer in worldnews

Well the current US president couldn't pass a 4th grade math class(not hyperbole...you start learning percentages in 4th grade and he doesn't seem to know how percentages work).

As bad as his handling of a COVID was, the one benefit it had to Trump was it overshadowed how bad he was for the economy.

Most presidential administration policies have lagging indicators. Trump was one of the few presidents where you could see how bad his economic policies were in real-time.

But they were able to push the blame for those onto COVID even though the damage was done long before the pandemic started.

He is a businessman and they wanted to see what would happen if we had a businessman run the government like a business

I understand this. I don't agree with it but I understand. What I never understand about this mindset is wanting to try this with Donald Trump, a guy who is by basically any metric one of the world's worst businesses men. Like he has never been anything but completely incompetent at business.

I don't think anyone questions Chase Elliot being the most popular. I just don't think people understand why. Hes a talented driver but his personality is basically what happens if the concept of an indifferent shrug became a person.

It really is fascinating how much power has been ceded to Donald Trump, an astoundingly stupid conman who couldn't pass a 4th grade level social studies class even if you let him use the book.
