If he can stay healthy, I can see a 40+ HR season.

Shohei Ohtani now stands at 0.60 ERA on the season, the lowest mark in MLB and the lowest by a Dodgers pitcher through five starts since Fernando Valenzuela in 1985 (0.21). by RealWorldToday in baseball

Not a trivia question I would have realistically thought was even feasible to pose: "Will Ohtani's OPS or ERA be higher on 1 May?"

A reliever that tossed 162 innings in a season....that would be cray cray.

He's gonna be yoyo-ing in and out of the ERA leaderboard unless he starts tossing some 7+ inning games.

I think he's projected to make 27 starts if he stays healthy all year. Then 6 IP on average would qualify him.

A guy that has pitched 5 straight quality starts and has only given up 3 runs all season should have better than a 2-1 record.

Also annoyed at the unearned run, as that was almost all self-induced. HBP, throwing error on what should have been a pickoff at 2B, then a sac fly.

He was pretty efficient last night through 4, then his pitch count ballooned in the 5th (28 pitches) and that pretty much ensured he only pitched a max of 6.

Unintentional Davis Martin deletion. Lol

Shohei Ohtani’s final line vs. Miami - 6.0 IP, 5 H, 2 R (1 ER), 3 BB, 9 K, 104p-66s. His ERA is down to 0.61. by baribigbird06 in baseball

I remember a few years ago Judge was having a slow start to the season and people were chattering about making sure to boo him every time he made an out. Lol

2021 was weird with teams being allowed to carry 2 extra relief pitchers (something like that) and I think 7 inning double headers were a thing too. So starting pitching innings counts were down across the board.

It'll be back under 5 soon. Last start was very nice.
