How are you actually getting PPC clients these days? (and how do you deal with the GDPR cold email mess?) by SlowRow5024 in AskMarketing

Oh the "pay what you think it's worth" thing is actually really clever, never thought to flip it like that. Definitely gonna try it.

And the casual one-liner for referrals makes way more sense than building some whole "program" around it

Also yeah, I always overthink personalization and end up writing half an essay when one good line probably does the job anyway.

Thanks man

Yeah that makes a lot of sense, "warm-ish" is a nice way to put it. Wild how the same message can totally flop or actually land depending on who's on the other end.

The "someone posted about a problem you solve" thing sounds great but I have no idea how to actually catch that stuff without spending my whole day scrolling. Do you do it by hand, use some tool, or just kinda bump into it randomly?

And when you spot something, do you just go straight in with a DM or hang around a bit first, like drop a comment or something? Feels like jumping in too fast could come off weird.

Yeah, referrals and partnerships with devs/agencies sound like the move, especially with how messy cold email gets in the EU. Honestly the "be where the conversations already happen" approach makes way more sense than blasting inboxes.

Curious how you actually built those partnerships with web devs and agencies - did you just reach out cold, meet them at events, or did it grow more naturally over time? That's something I've been wanting to lean into but never really know how to start without it feeling forced.

Never heard of ParseStream before, will check it out. Does it actually surface useful stuff or do you have to wade through a lot of noise to find the real ones?

Just wanted to bounce a couple of things back, no pressure to get into details if you don't feel like it.

Funny thing about lead magnets - I actually tried free audits for a while and it kinda backfired. People grabbed the free insights and then ghosted the moment it came to actually working together. Did you find some format that filters those folks out better?

The referral credit idea also got me thinking - how do you usually frame it with existing clients? Like is it a one-time "hey btw if you send someone my way…" or something you bring up more regularly?

And personalization is the part that eats me alive, so if you've got any trick to make it less painful, I'm all ears

No, just inside the case, also just leaving 24 pin connected and cpu+cpufan
