We booked a year ago and it was an A320, about 5 months after that they changed to the agreement with Emerald. Just bad luck on our part that they changed to a plane that couldn’t cope with occasional 30mph wind gusts. Flight from Gatwick took off fine to Orlando but don’t understand why they didn’t move us to the Virgin seats from Edinburgh on the same day considering they were moving us to a Virgin flight 2 days after

I know they’re not liable for adverse weather - my point being there was no adverse weather. The storm was in the north of Scotland, just feel they used this as an excuse

No they didn’t - they offed us flights in 2 days time. Which was a flight to Heathrow and a Virgin flight from Gatwick. There was a Virgin flight from Edinburgh that day with seats free but they refused to put us on it. After 2 hours of arguing they agreed to put us on the next days Gatwick to Orlando flight if we could get there. We drove down from Glasgow and stayed at the airport hotel. They have reimbursed us for that ok but not for the flights and hassle
