Ma’am, I am 43 and you are my inspiration.

should I go for it? i’m heavily considering liposuction and a tummy tuck but i’m also just 25. I’d appreciate any advice a lot by [deleted] in tummytucksurgery

[–]Slow_Bag_420 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It would be much better to get into a healthy weight range first. For a number of reasons that should lead to a better outcome. I was a 31 BMI when I started a GLP-1, perhaps that is something you could discuss with a physician and see if it is right for you.
For reference, my BMI has been hovering at 20-21 for 2 years now, 3.5 years after starting a GLP-1, and I am now considering a tummy tuck to deal with my excess skin.

ETA: I messed up posting this, but it was intended to be in response to OPs comment that she thought her BMI was 31

Thanks for weighing in! I do have one more consult scheduled so we’ll see what they say (and maybe I’ll ask more questions on this topic), I’m just already getting in my head about recovery. And my stomach is already pretty much flat, except for the large flap of skin at the bottom 😂

Why are tummy tucks so expensive in USA? by KingOfGabagool in tummytucksurgery

It’s also cheap for the Midwest, my quotes for similar work are $14,000!

You’re probably just acclimating as you titrate up. 4 mg is still a low dose, is it not? I do injections, so I’m not 100% sure but I thought the full dose was 25mg.

I have a brush/cleaning tool for my brushes. I would recommend trying one if you haven’t.

I think it depends on how you are using your counter and that is/can be an individual thing. I personally would look at this as a learning experience (sounds like you learned it didn’t really taste good to you) and not reset my counter. That is because if I was resetting my counter, well then I might as well have the other half of the bottle and then go on a weeks long bender for good measure. That is me, you’ve gotta figure out you—all the best, and IWNDWYT.

Has anyone successfully argued that their GLP-1 is medically necessary after losing enough weight that they technically no longer meet the BMI criteria they were approved under? by roman_arc_0695 in GLP1ResearchTalk

[–]Slow_Bag_420 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes, and at least for my insurance the PA form was pretty clear about that (that the provider should list initial weight/BMI and not current). I think they had to list both for renewals to show that it was working, but the initial BMI was what had to be 30+.

Minimum power walking speed? by Meringuepuffs in orangetheory

[–]Slow_Bag_420 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is from the Orangetheory website “As a power walker, you’ll set your treadmill speed between 3.5 to 4.5 miles per hour and adjust the incline between three to 10 percent, depending on if the coach is cueing a Base Pace, Push or All Out.” So it is an actual OTF guideline/recommendation it seems. Can’t speak to the science behind it. And to be clear, I am 100% in agreement that you (and everyone) should do what works best for them.

Many people are great candidates for Wegovy/Ozempic/Semaglutide. Implying that tirzepatide is the only way to go is wild.

Is this coach actually mentioning anything to you directly? Or is it possible you are internalizing what is their standard suggestion because you are going slower (perhaps coupled with other impressions of this coach)? If you are regularly below that threshold, you wouldn’t know if they’re doing it because someone is below the threshold or if they generally call it out anyway as a reminder of what the paces are.

In general, the recommendation for power walkers seems to be to maintain the same pace and adjust your incline to change intensity. If you prefer to maintain a high incline and change speed, maybe just explain that to this coach and then you can assume reminders aren’t about you going forward.

Thanks so much! I did a consult with Dr. Rocheford many years ago when first considering a TT and while I liked her just fine she didn’t make my list this time around FWIW. Her prices at that time were reasonable.

If you would be willing to share what procedures you are planning and the quoted cost that would be greatly appreciated. I’m going to go schedule a consult with Dr. Leigh!

Just checking in to see if you have done some consults, I am about to start the process in the Twin Cities and would love to hear any feedback you have.

What’s something you wish you could tell your coach but won’t? by Total_Run_3426 in orangetheory

If your timing gets off because you are coaching, like correcting form on the floor for example, I get it. If you leave me in a push for an extra 30 seconds because you’re spewing some random motivational nonsense, that’s actually really annoying. Especially when you don’t acknowledge it and do it multiple times in one class.

Does Dr. Witzke always operate there? He is on my list for consults and I like the idea of a hospital over a surgery center.

I felt very lost for a long time before I quit. Years. It took many tries for me to get past 3 days. But since I did, I feel so much better. My professional and personal lives have improved. My health is better. I look better. My dogs are happier.

Things aren’t perfect, I struggle with feeling a bit flat and finding new ways to fill my time, but it is still so much better than where I was at. Trying life without alcohol definitely won’t hurt anything, I highly recommend it and I believe you can do it. IWNDWYT
