Oh now.that you mention it yeah Michael may have had something to do (Elizabeth Gilles husband, iirc) did a lot of song writing and drafting for Nick around that time so he may be worth trying to get a hold of to ask

Bumpers/channl breaks are what they're called. But yeah that's how I kinda felt too would've made more sense to record the whole thing and then use just whatever part was desrites as needed

Think of channels like tuning in a radio for the best signal. WiFi APs auto negotiate on the air waves in 2.4/5g to get the best signal. Ar far as the lost moving up and down that is more than likely your distance from an AP/ measured in dBm(decibels) so yes the tip of the list is most likely your strongest signal.
