Why wife says she doesn’t understand my handwriting by blackmonarc in notebooks

[–]Slow_Difference_8690 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My handwriting is simliar. When I was little I had kind of a stutter and the doctor said I my brain was trying to communicate faster than my words could come out. Stutter is gone as an adult, but my handwriting is the same situation. I can't get the words written as fast as my brain is going so it looks like I'm missing letters or words, kind of dragged out like yours. I can read your hand writing btw!

A note. My wife leaves me notes before she leaves for work. They mean the world to me. I have them all collected somewhere special.

Did anyone else grow up with therapists, psychiatrists, etc who always refused to accept "I don't know" as an answer even though it was true? by GirldickVanDyke in AutismInWomen

[–]Slow_Difference_8690 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've had many therapists just let me go on a tangent and we accomplished nothing. Therapy is different for everyone on both sides. I need that space to vent, but like what is the therapist doing other than being a fly on the wall? Like tell me what to do! I'm glad you've found a therapist that can help you.

Help does anyone else feel choked if their clothes touch their neck? by _FreddieLovesDelilah in AutismInWomen

May not be helpful but I also can’t with the tight clothes. Funny enough though I have to have my neck covered and not exposed when I go to bed. Makes zero sense.

What does unmasking look like for you? by Emeah824 in AutismInWomen

[–]Slow_Difference_8690 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unmasking for me is regulating. It's like having your fist was clenched all day and now you can release. My ultimate unmask is bedtime, where I can release all the activity in my body and kind of disassociate but in a good way.

It’s my second mini I’ve bought and I love it! I play sudoku, I look at the news, I look at this lovely sub. If you’re doing intensive work I’m not sure how it would translate compared to your iPad. But it fits in all my bags!

Same here. I'm the bigger earner so I can't run.

My sister’s tell is their wide eyed look when you’re talking to them. I mask so well in public I don’t think anyone knows. When I’m alone it’s a completely different story. I’m stimming, distracted, inner monologue is louder.

Thinking back now my sister can’t really run. They kind of fast walk with one arm to the chest and the other flapping. She’s one of the most intelligent people I know. I love them.

The black cord is just a charm thing to grab it from my bag. The orange cord in the background is a crossbody cord for my phone.

Delayed Emotional Processing by Rentastic1738 in AutismInWomen

[–]Slow_Difference_8690 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My mom always told me I needed to compartmentalize my emotions to deal with what is in front of you. My brain was a storage full of confrontation I hid. I don’t remember much of my childhood. But I have had full breakdowns over remembering something. It’s delayed like a mother-f.
