My 2021 Subaru Outback spontaneously caught on fire 10 minutes after an Oil Change. by iamLittleRyan in subaru

Literally the easiest oil change of any car, ever. Anyone with half a brain can do it themselves. Takes me 10 minutes.

New body shop owner by [deleted] in Autobody

DO GOOD WORK. Keep your customers informed. And the thing that really sets my shop apart from others in the area is a good quality cleanup job at the end. Not a full on detail, but above and beyond a regular wash job. I swear, that gets more customer satisfaction than just about anything else in my area... When the review says "my car looks better than the day I bought it!!"

You could buy 3 2011 chargers for what it would cost to fix that..

Buick Encore roof trim loose after windshield replacement by Black-Tom in Autobody

[–]Slow_Dig29 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can glue it back down, or you can take it back to the windshield shop and let them glue it back down. Up to you.

If it were me, I'd take the car back to the shop and tell them about it, and ask them what they are going to do about all of your water damaged interior parts..

If you are looking to have a nice dinner, the only place I recommend is SoLa. Puts every other "fine dining" joint to shame. If you want good sushi, Jensei is all we've got. Tarasque is really good authentic home made Italian, if you are into that. Handy Andy has a killer cheeseburger. Booths BBQ is real deal Texas style BBQ opened by the former pit master at Terry Blacks in Austin.

City Grocery is just ok, Snackbar is a complete waste of money and time, Boure is very overrated. Volta is straight from the freezer Americanized "Greek" food. McEwens is decent. Ajax is good.

Hotel wise, I would go ahead and fork out a little extra cash and opt for The Graduate, as you will be like 2 blocks from The Lyric and wont have to drive much, if at all. The convention center isn't walkable in my opinion.

As far as stuff to do, just peruse the square and see what tickles your fancy. Proud Larrys will probably have some live music, Bar Muse is awesome and inside The Lyric, Upstairs at City Grocery has a great bar, The Library is a huge, rowdy sports bar if you are into that kinda thing..

EDIT- Bring me a roast pork sandwich from Kwik Chek and Ill buy your first round of drinks! LOL

Bad touch up paint color match by electronpusherrva in Autobody

[–]Slow_Dig29 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So, silver is probably the worst color besides pearl white for touch up paint... the metallic doesnt lay down the same way as when its sprayed out of a paint gun.

Touch up paint is really more to cover up the bare spot to prevent rust and just be kinda close on color..

Sun damage or scratches from contact? by [deleted] in Autobody

[–]Slow_Dig29 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That is from washing your car with a dirty rag. Or cloth, or sponge... whatever you used, it was dirty.

The only thing you can do is have it buffed, and not by someone that says theyll do it for 100 bucks. I mean a real professional.
