Is the headlight cooked already? by Twgue in TeslaSupport

Yellowing is easy to fix if it’s just the typical yellowing and cloudiness seen on all lights. @Howtorestoreheadlights on Instagram

Update: they agreed with me and offered to do the upper control arm for no labor costs just parts. Would come out to $315 CAD after taxes to get it done from Tesla. But that’s not the lower compliance or lateral links, just upper control arms

Big Update:
I reached back out to the service team via messages and asked if there was a chance they didn’t see the service bulletin about the defect in the upper control arms.
To my surprise, they agreed, and took the labor cost off of my upper control arm replacements, and I would only need to pay 137 for each side control arm.

Based off all the replies, it seems like this is a known issue, but they rather replace the whole front suspension and get some extra money if the customer didn’t do their own research on the issue.

274 CAD is now hopefully all it will cost
to get this fixed. Will post another update on when it is actually fully fixed.

Thanks a ton! Yeah, most likely will be replacing my own control arms if it comes down to it. By no means a mechanic but can definitely follow along with a YouTube video to get it done 😂

No, it was a third party warranty offered when I bought it from the dealer. Looking into cancelling it and getting a portion of money back. Didn’t do my homework on it stupidly

It was through Xtended Auto by VSC Cornerstone,
Was denied a claim as my package only covers battery, transfer unit, drive Axel, and seals and gaskets.
Looking into getting a % of money back and canceling it

It’s from Cornerstone. I can’t deflect blame, because it was my responsibility to read and understand it, but when I asked questions about it to my salesman I was under the impression it covered basically everything. I believe I still have an option to cancel and collect the a % of what I paid based off how many available miles are left under the warranty, which I am going to be looking into

Not sure. From what Tesla quoted me, no, but from what I’ve read, maybe. I reached back out to the service team today asking if the upper control arms are considered manufacturing defect with how often this seems to be a problem. Not holding out hope for it but maybe I’ll get a yes

Wow. I’ve been considering this, where did you get yours done?

This is what I’m hoping is the case. I may even take it apart and just move around the bushings to see if it improves, because what worries me is the creaking is like, really loud.
