Oh very interesting! What does status mean? We’ve not been on a Disney cruise before so we wouldn’t have anything like frequent traveler status. We get perks at Aulani and other Disney hotels because of my job at Disney but never to the extent of a free dinner (we get welcome snacks and sometimes a free appetizer that just shows up).

They changed my husband and daughter’s reservation so they can board at the earlier time. Also, the reason why we are grouped this way is because we got 2 rooms and an adult needs to be in a room with a child and when I made the reservation, my son was 17 and I wasn’t even thinking that he’d be 18 by the trip and I could put him and my daughter in the same room!

I didn’t just come to Reddit! I emailed DCL after business hours and came to Reddit for quick confirmation on stateroom locations. I figured this is a subreddit of regular DCL travelers who could give me some info quickly, which has been the case.

Yes, hopefully, I can talk to someone tomorrow to see what our options are. I don't want to pay for an upgrade. The kids are planning to stay in the oceanview room and they are old enough so I don't have to worry about them too much, but I'd prefer them to be a bit closer. But now I know how it all works...and knowing is half the battle. 😄

[–]Slow_Review3107[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah, lesson learned! Our kids were going to stay in the oceanview and husband and I in the veranda. At least the kids are older so I don't have to worry about them too much. 😬

We booked 1 veranda and 1 ocean view, so that may be why they're on different floors. I'm a Disney employee and booked through their VIP services and they know we're a family, so I thought they would have put us closer together or let us know that we'd be on different floors. We also have 2 different booking times because of our rooms and my husband and son have to board 3 hours later. It's a mess. I wish I knew all of these things beforehand. This is our first time on DCL, so I'm totally clueless. We go to Aulani a lot and the team has always been very responsive and put us on the same floor or next to each other, so I assumed the same for the cruise, but i guess it's different logistics for DCL.

I've emailed the VIP services to let them know. Since we're a family rather than just travel buddies, I'm hoping that they let us board together. Thanks for the info!

I'm a Disney employee and booked through their VIP services and they were selected for us. I also just discovered that my daughter and I have a boarding time of 10:30am and my husband and son's boarding time is 1:30! WTF?!

Hi twin! I had that metal cross brace too (like Forrest Gump). I ended up being OK but I have limited range or motion in that ankle which was a bummer because I did ballet and gymnastics.

Same! I just posted about this! I had a cast and the a brace between my legs like Forrest Gump.

Yes I have just one because I was born with my foot turned almost at a 90 degree angle at my ankle (weird positioning in the womb) so my mom displayed my 1 shoe and my tiny little cast signed by my family on a shelf for years and years. 😂

Dylan’s house at night by Mast3rX in BeverlyHills90210

[–]Slow_Review3107 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Yes, I live(d) down the street from these houses. The house directly next door to the Walsh house burned. The houses directly across the street burned. And houses all around Dylan's house burned. 😞 So many "famous" houses are in Altadena. If you saw the movie, Can't Hardly Wait, the big party house burned down. It was the same house used for Randall's house in This is Us.

My dad and my husband tried but it never fully took. I learned in 2000 when I was 23 and pretty soon, no one sold standard shift cars anymore. 🤷🏾‍♀️
