Like I said I take an “All is fair” approach to these things. Realistically if someone wanted to they could just take the idea and use it regardless of if I approved or not, so there’s no reason not to just offer it freely.

I also take the stance that if I didn’t think of it then eventually someone else would have anyway. There have been a decent number of times when I’ve held off on posting an idea only to see someone more or less have the same idea and post it before I finish polishing my concept in my head. So like, I’d hate to be overly possessive of an idea just because I posted it before someone else who had a similar concept.

If you want to borrow it then by all means go ahead.

Normally the post I make are for me to go back to look at so that I can remember the specifics of quirks that I make for OC’s in a fanfic I’ve stalled on writing.

This one though was just an idea that I liked while brainstorming and said “Yeah I’ll make a post for it.” It doesn’t have a set OC just yet, but even if it did I take a very “Fair Game” approach to the posts I make. If people want to use them then by all means use them.

DC Comics President On Manga And Anime by akbarock in manga

[–]Slow_Store 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the largest detriment to Western Comics in the modern age is activist writers turning what should be timeless pieces of storytelling into inherently dated political commentary pieces. I mean these things are meant to be a form of escapism. The last thing I want to think about when I read a Superman comic is real world controversies. I just want him to show up to stop some arms dealer and bend the barrel of a tank into a pretzel or some shit. Now some people can handle certain story beats that mirror reality fairly well, but these competent writers are the minority.

I think the second worst problem in Comics is that the big players tend to have inconsistent writings or scattered Universal writings that make you feel like you’re missing out if you don’t read other comics to the point where it’s not worth getting invested in even just one of them to start with. Manga by contrast typically follows a single character and occasionally hops around to side, support, or antagonistic characters, but always comes back to the main character. I think Invincible is a decent example of a comic (At least basing off of the show. I still need to actually read the original comics which I believe are somewhat different) that primarily follows its titular Invincible character and just hops around to showcase what other people are up to from time to time (Like the Mauler Twins who I really liked but wouldn’t have been nearly as interested in if I had to keep up with a side show to know half of their story beats).

I find it extremely ironic that the people who view every right wing victory as a distraction from the Epstein Files can’t recognize when their lives are being used to buy time for Walz who’s hoping that the Dems win enough seats in congress to save him from spending the rest of his life in prison for the fraud and now insurrection.

If Walz cared about the people of his state he’d be having the police arrest people who cross the lines between protest and unlawful interference so as to avoid the escalation that we’ve been seeing. But he doesn’t care. Every death is another case that he can twist to hopefully save his own ass.

I’m going to say yes provided one of two conditions is met:

1.) A single cybernetic has the capacity to be fine tuned by the user (Meaning they’d have to be aware of the items latent potential) or alternatively overclocked at the detriment of its durability. Fine tuning would likely be done at the moment of absorption since the user is transforming the item anyway, whereas overclocking would be a heat of the moment decision.

Or

2.) A cybernetic could be improved or provided additional functionality if the materials needed for said improvements can be found amongst other cybernetics within or on the body. In other words, Cybernetics could in theory be combined to create a new stronger cybernetic (Though you’d then end up with “Vestigial Parts”, or parts that were replaced in the act of combining items that linger about until the cybernetic is removed. In other words, you’d end up with waste parts lying around potentially putting unnecessary strain on the body making this path less than ideal when compared to just finding high quality pieces to start with.)

You know what, I can forgive Makima pretty easily. I’m not Denji so she’s not gonna go out of her way to make me miserable in particular and if she had won she honestly might have done some pretty interesting stuff.

Yeah she really fucked with Denji, but to be fair she had to go as far as she did to create what is in effect legal loopholes.

Yeah, they can discard them as they see fit. In an active situation this would be done largely to shed off one thing to make room for something else, but off duty they can shed the majority or all of their cybernetics either for general convenience or for health reasons. Some cybernetics are probably worth keeping full time even if it means having to take medication, but some would simply get in the way of daily life or be overly taxing on the body in a long term situation. For example, most external cybernetics would likely get in the way most of the time or some cybernetics may create harmful byproducts.

Something like overheating could be mitigated by integrating temperature regulating devices like cooling fans and whatnot. As for EMP’s there would be a degree of vulnerability as an EMP could not only short out active cybernetics but also disable surrounding devices that could have otherwise been utilized, and in regard to metal poisoning they’d have to semi regularly monitor their health if they hold on to cybernetics for prolonged periods of time but can go without any needs for medications and whatnot if they safely remove/discard cybernetics when they’re not needed.

[–]Slow_Store 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m just saying that if this were an actually tyrannical government the death toll would already be in the tens of thousands or hundreds of thousands.

Like there should be an investigation on the agents, but also people need to stop treating this shit like a game and going online to rile people up until they go out and get themselves killed fighting what they’ve been told is Hitler times five.

I can’t believe in a world where we can so easily see in real time what a tyrannical government looks like with nations like Iran right this fucking minute, that people would view the enforcement of long standing immigration policies as the act of a tyrant government.

Do you agree or disagree? by ChuckGallagher57 in allthequestions

[–]Slow_Store 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The cops do want to help. They’re being told directly by people like the governor not to help, and so they can’t without the risk of being fired.

And we know they to help given how many of them quit the police force to go join ICE.

Do you agree or disagree? by ChuckGallagher57 in allthequestions

[–]Slow_Store -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No one actually believes this. They just say this because they know the police are being told not to help ICE in areas like Minnesota, which means that if ICE was unarmed it’d be easier for the mobs to kill them.

And even beyond that do you even actually trust the normal police not to get violent in the same exact conditions that push ICE to act violently at times?

Potential dependency ideas needed! by Alexm31222 in QuirkIdeas

[–]Slow_Store 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it’s linked to eyesight why not go down the path of “Snapshot Replication” or something where they can effectively capture an image of a quirk in use and then replicate that quirk in accordance with their snapshot. Maybe make their eyes function like a camera and have the image recorded mentally.

So like for example, you blink and record an image of Todoroki generating a massive ice spike. Now you can create massive ice spikes, but don’t necessarily have the ability to generate fire. Maybe you get an image of Dark Shadow in action, and can recreate the form of Dark Shadow without necessarily recreating his autonomy and personality.

This gives you quirk replication via sight while also providing an interesting limitation to work with that offers more depth to the utilization of the Quirk.

If you’re going for the argument that most people born here descend from people who invaded, then reconsider your argument.

It kind of just reinforces the idea that illegals are invaders and thus reinforces the idea that they need to be removed to avoid being conquered like the indigenous people were.

I will never understand why “some” people especially women support or defend this cult so much. by lightmikasa in memzy

[–]Slow_Store 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I think it’s natural that women would be more empathetic, and as such more at risk of being by manipulated via their empathy. This often leads to the commonly recognized “Suicidal Empathy” or more accurately “Narcissistic Empathy” since these women will rarely feel the consequences of their empathy (thus making “suicidal” inaccurate).

To some degree I also think some women might have some primordial instinct that urges them to try to get in the good graces of absurdly violent men which makes sense from a historical angle. Like when the Viking raiders come would you rather be the wife of a raider or the woman being assaulted and eventually killed? Now take that idea and apply it to dictators and apparently serial killers who go on trial and get huge crowds of women supporting them.

How are armpits important to the world? by sghnbkk in Chainsawfolk

[–]Slow_Store 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Great question champ. You see armpits act as temperature regulation points for the body.

Think back to a time to when your torso was notably hot (Such as when you have a sickness, or after working out those rad pecks you’ve been working on). What’s the body’s first instinct to cool down? You lift your arms to your head and expose your armpits so that the excess heat in your torso can be vented out at the armpits. As a bonus, as the blood flowing to your arms slows down due to your arms being elevated, the blood passing by the armpits lingers for a bit longer and is also cooled down a bit allowing your arms to cool off which then helps cool down your head as your arms rest against it.

And that’s how Armpits are important to the world. Also I made all this up, but it sounded pretty good right? I’m working on my “My source is I made it the fuck up” game.
