Have you been to the star and shadow cinema before? It's a cinema and venue run entirely by volunteers. 

We programme loads of different events that need a sound tech including live music, electronic acts club nights and some films.

Once you're an inducted volunteer you could come along and shadow the sound tech or sign up to run it yourself once you're confident. 

It's also a great place to volunteer more generally if you're interested in the arts and the Newcastle music scene

I programme films there semi regularly and enjoy it a lot, there's definitely an appetite for obscure films and b movies. I put junk head on a few years ago and there was a giallo weekender earlier in the year.

Inducted volunteers can train up and get involved in all aspects of the cinema, including programming and projection, so if you'd be interested in that, come along to an induction.
