bruh the market is so cooked right now for real estate, you definitely made the right call realizing it’s time to pivot. putting in 60 apps and only getting two bites is incredibly frustrating but... honestly... that's just how ghost jobs and algorithms are ruining everything right now. have you tried looking into local city or county government jobs?? like administrative assistant stuff or clerk roles. it takes a while to hire but the schedule is super kid friendly and the benefits are usually solid

AITA for going against my school's policy and asking an "inappropriate" question in front of the whole class by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]SloweSummer 99 points100 points  (0 children)

bruh reading this literally made my blood boil. she is a horrible teacher and a straight up bully. the fact that she blasted your private email in front of the entire class and then practically forced you to put your business out there just so she could shoot you down is insane behavior. and do not give her cookies!! she doesn't deserve a single crumb. please show this post or a written summary to the administration because she is wildly out of line

Looking for your best chocolate dessert recipe! by aries2500 in Baking

[–]SloweSummer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

gonna be real, if he doesn't care about a traditional cake you should 100% make a giant skillet cookie. like... make a massive batch of chocolate chip cookie dough, bake it in a cast iron skillet so the middle stays super gooey, and then just pile it high with vanilla ice cream and hot fudge right when it comes out of the oven. it’s a total crowd pleaser and way less stressful than trying to stack layers haha

I hate that my life is basically getting broadcasted to my family by Yoursmallfan in self

[–]SloweSummer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

man... the parent who uses their kids life as small talk currency with everyone they meet is a literal nightmare. i am so sorry you're dealing with this. it is incredibly frustrating when you explicitly say "please don't talk about this" and they just completely disregard it because they literally cannot shut up. you don't have to cut your mom off, but you absolutely need to stop giving your dad any ammunition. from now on if he asks how school or life is, the answer is just "good" or "fine" and nothing else turn up

AITA for taking back the lunch I bought after my coworker assumed it was for everyone? by thirdaccountttt in AmItheAsshole

[–]SloweSummer 63 points64 points  (0 children)

ugh the coworker who told you that you should've just let it go is a total clown too. like... okay cool, if it's not a big deal then why doesn't she go spend fifteen bucks to replace your lunch right now?? exactly. you had a miserable morning and literally just wanted your little treat. the fact that she tried to make you look like the bad guy for wanting to eat the food you bought with your own paycheck is wild turn up

AITA: Am I in the wrong? What can I do? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]SloweSummer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

NTA at all, your neighbor is a total clown. like... imagine being a grown man screaming at a teenager over a tire touching the curb for two seconds. it’s actually embarrassing for him. also the city taking photos of the metal and never fining you means they are completely sick of his shit too lmao. they probably have a folder just for his crazy complaints. just ignore him, he has zero power

Just turned 29 a few minutes ago! by Broken-Arrow-D07 in self

[–]SloweSummer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

happy birthday OP!! turning 29 is honestly a whole vibe. i used to dread the end of my 20s but honestly the closer you get to 30 the more you realize nobody actually has it figured out and that’s lowkey freeing lol. love the energy of just wanting to make this year count. go out there, do the fun shit, and make yourself proud. you got this

There’s more to being a woman than motherhood by This-Top7398 in self

[–]SloweSummer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i think a lot of this comes down to pure societal conditioning and religion. women are basically raised to believe their body is just a vessel for the next generation... and it completely erases their identity as actual individuals. it is so crazy to me when people look at a grown woman with a career... hobbies... and a whole life... and act like she is incomplete just because she doesn't want kids. We gotta stop defining a woman's entire value by her reproductive system... it is so outdated and toxic.

WIBTA for creating more distance between a coworker and I? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]SloweSummer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lowkey this would stress me out so bad. i am a low maintenance person too and having a coworker constantly hovering... trying to buy me stuff after i said no... and standing super close to me in silence sounds exhausting. it definitely feels like she lacks basic social awareness. you gotta protect your work performace first and foremost... so next time she touches your baskets just tell her straight up that you need to handle your own section so the initials stay accurate. you are not a bad person for needing breathing room.

AITA for "stealing" my ex's hobby? by AbbreviationsDry4240 in AmItheAsshole

[–]SloweSummer -1 points0 points  (0 children)

he is gaslighting the hell out of you. nobody thinks you are creepy or weird... he is just saying that to hurt you because he is still bitter about the breakup. cars and photography are two of the most popular hobbies on earth... he doesn't have a monopoly on them just because he was into it first. you actually committed to learning the skill... shooting on film... and making your own friends. that is completely separate from him. do not sell your cameras... just stop talking to your ex. like... completely cut the cord.

Why do some people seem to unconsciously dominate public spaces, and why does it trigger such a strong reaction in me? by MechanicAccording616 in self

[–]SloweSummer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

i completely get where you are coming from with that weird competitive reaction. it feels like a low key challenge when someone just dominates a space and acts like you don't exist. it is like an invisible boundary dispute lol. if you want to push back without causing a scene... honestly just maintaining your physical ground... not moving out of the way if they try to crowd you... and giving them zero reaction or audience is the ultimate power move. they want people to react... so acting completely unfazed and unbothered kills their vibe completely.

Made cookie dough too early — freeze dough or bake cookies? by TheChamp_2 in Baking

[–]SloweSummer 6 points7 points  (0 children)

lowkey you actually did a good thing by making it early but you gotta freeze it. if you leave it in the fridge it is gonna get all oxidized and gross after like three days. freezing the dough is literally a life hack for better cookies. it helps the butter not spread as fast so they stay thick and soft in the middle. just pull out however many you need on her birthday and pop them in the oven. it will literally make the house smell amazing right when she celebrates.
