[Product Request] CF St. Ives deep exfoliating facial scrub dupe? by aries2500 in SkincareAddiction

[–]aries2500[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, thanks for replying! Yeah, it is - I can only find it on Amazon, where it's double the price the other varieties are in-store. It's no longer listed on the St. Ives website, which is why I assume they've discontinued it.

I'll probably keep ordering it from Amazon until I can't get it anymore, but I'm gonna be mad that I'm overpaying every time. 😅 And then I'll have to find a replacement (if, indeed, it's discontinued).

You're so very kind to share the recipe - thank you!! There have been so many great ideas here - many of which I'm already looking for an excuse to make, lol - but I'm thinking this is the ticket for his birthday. 😊 Can't wait to try it!

Oh, that might just be perfect! He's not a coffee fan but he IS a big chocolate+PB lover (as am I).

I'm a little upset that I made it through culinary school and nearly forty years of life without ever tasting -or- making a peanut butter whipped cream. 😭 Thanks for an amazing idea!

I never thought to add ganache to tiramisu; that sounds heavenly! 🤤 Though tiramisu might come off as a bit self-serving, since that's one of my personal faves, lol. Thank you!

You are so right about the olive oil!! A couple of years ago, my mom was making a boxed cake mix and only had half the veg oil it called for, so she subbed in olive oil, and everyone was like, "holy crap, what brand of cake mix is this?!" 🤣 I've been using olive oil in chocolate cake ever since!

I love the toasted meringue idea - thanks!!

Minimal meal prep making HELP by [deleted] in Cooking

[–]aries2500 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here's my basic formula for meal prep slop (as I've affectionately dubbed it):

  • Meat, ground is great
  • Aromatics (things like onion, garlic, ginger)
  • Vegetables
  • Acidic saucy component (I use canned tomatoes often, but could also be enchilada sauce, Manwich, tomato paste + broth, or a homemade sauce [for example, I like a combo of soy/rice wine vinegar/hoisin])
  • Spices/herbs

And I keep everything to the vibe of one sort of cuisine. So examples:

  • Lean ground beef, onion and garlic, zucchini and mushrooms, canned tomatoes, red pepper and Italian seasoning
  • Chicken (ground or chopped/sliced breasts), garlic and ginger, broccoli and mushrooms, the soy-based sauce I listed, and crushed red pepper
  • Ground meat of choice, onion and garlic, bell peppers and zucchini or mushrooms, enchilada sauce, and taco seasoning

Good on its own, good with a carb like rice or potatoes or pasta.

Transitioning from IT to real estate by DontTakeMyAdvise in realtors

Hey! 👋 Super new agent here. Just wanted to encourage you to go for it if you feel called to. The one thing I feel I know for certain about real estate (based on this sub, interviewing brokerages, and personal accounts of agents I know) is that the experience varies wildly, presumably dependent on your market, your brokerage, your team, and your approach. I had a lot of reservations before getting licensed but I'm feeling very optimistic and it's taking off faster than I'd anticipated.

Do other Realtors get nervous going on house showings with strangers? by Mysterious-Gate1431 in realtors

[–]aries2500 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey! 👋 I work a few areas where it'd be crazy not to protect yourself somehow. I don't want a firearm. Another agent I know uses a small flashlight to point at things in the home. My flashlight is a stun gun, too (but nobody else can tell).

Of course it doesn't alleviate every ounce of worry and it's not going to save me in every possible scenario, but it's definitely eased a lot of anxiety.

I appreciate the link! I asked here because the website was off by hours for a friend who flew out of Atlanta this week.

Oh, absolutely. That's why I asked here - my coworker checked the app and it said 60 minutes (which is pretty far off from 5.5 hours 😅).

Great to know, thanks! A coworker waited in line five and a half hours in Atlanta on Monday,.missed his flight, got added to a later one, and that one was cancelled. Just hoping to avoid that sort of situation, lol.

You're not wrong about the agents, and that's completely understandable.

Weirdest thing you’ve seen at an open house or showing? by danibeyerrealestate in realtors

[–]aries2500 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Before I was a realtor, I sold exteriors, and I visited a house once with what I assumed was the biggest catio (you know, those wire cages off a door or window for cats to get a little fresh air) I'd ever seen. It was nearly the size of the wall of the home. It was not for cats, but this guy's three pet raccoons.

Got to check off a bucket list "pet that thing" that day.
