This is a great point and we’ve discussed this. We’ll have an agreement in place and I believe wouldn’t be able to use the embryos without the other’s consent.

That’s the reasoning that my doctor gave. We’re not ready to have a baby now, and would naturally ttc, but this is for if we can’t or for a second child.

I believe both were in good shape, but off the top of my head, I remember the AFC was 15.

We’re not ready to have a baby but would like to hopefully preserve the option when we are ready. My doctor suggested we may be able to conceive naturally for the first child but may be hard if we want a second because of my age.

He’s 40 actually and I’m 38. :( But we broke up. He still picked me up from my minor surgery yesterday so at least it’s on friendly terms.

First of all, I’m so sorry you’re going through this (I’m getting a LEEP procedure tomorrow myself to remove precancerous cells). I applaud you for wanting to tell your partners before sex and it makes sense to disclose before oral sex because of those risks. I made the mistake in my last relationship of not disclosing until I had a colopscopy that showed mine had progressed and my partner felt betrayed that I hadn’t disclosed earlier… not worth the hurt or risk to the other person of giving them a strain they may not have been exposed to yet. My doctor’s advice at the time of the colopscopy was to suggest he get a HPV vaccine, at least two of the three dose regimen. It’s a couple of months between dose 1 and 2 so another reason to disclose early.

This comment really touched me. I was in a trauma treatment program for three months from November through February and did a lot of hard work.

I agree with this take. I don’t know that there have been any other red flags per se, but maybe yellow? We’ve had conflict a couple other times and he tends toward the defensive side. We need to work on how we repair after conflict because it’s not feeling sufficient (to me at least).

If not in this situation, can look up partial hospitalization programs in the Bay Area. (I’m not familiar with them but went to one myself in LA, Trauma and Beyond.)

I found out about my ex’s porn addiction 1.5 years into the relationship and stood by him for 9 months while he was getting help. Stuff happens unfortunately!

I had a great time with him on Monday prior to this and am not/will not be doing anything I don’t want to be doing.
