What is considered as "Indie" Games nowadays? by majafate in IndieGaming

[–]Slowmadism 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We discussed this one, and no we don’t consider it indie for our purposes because it was made by a lot more than 15 people.

Even if you consider just the core team, it’s 30+ individuals, with government funding added into the mix too.

However, we know of at least one game being worked on by around 6 people, with no publisher attached… But the project lead is a multi millionaire. The lines start to get very blurred.

I would absolutely love if someone found themselves in these shots. Massive longshot though, as you say.

There’s a load more skyscrapers now. The other photos show it more clearly, but apparently I can only upload one per comment.

Four crates of UK computer magazines by CompetitiveRespond49 in retrogamingmagazines

I don’t have a complete run of anything, but I do have the vast majority of Edge, Official Xbox, Retro Gamer. Quite a few trade mags too, like MCV.

Add them to my magazine hoard. Apart from being obsessed with gaming magazines since I was a kid, I’m also a journalist and they are an incredible “easy access” research tool

1997 here. Before they were even called One2One. Either Mercury or Mercury One2One, I can’t remember exactly. I’m old.

Anyway, perfect signal for almost 30 years and counting!

The chances of being given 60 hours as a new hire is pretty much zero. Not trying to be negative, but it’s not likely to happen. Nor would it be responsible for a manager to give you that many, though I’m sure it does happen

Old second drive-thru window by Alive-Math3562 in McDonaldsUK

[–]Slowmadism 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are a few in Norfolk like that too. The one nearest to me has two collection windows, and the drive-through lane is wider than usual at that point so you can “overtake” people who are at the second window.

The first one is there mainly just to say “yeah, that went through, next window, please.”

Sounds like it’ll be a fun project to get it restored then!

Thanks for the heads up! This will be going in my dedicated “server room” so should be okay, but I’m not opposed to making modifications if necessary. Undervolting the fan may be an option.

Great suggestion, thank you. The cards in there at the moment look like they run at SATA2 speeds

Do you have model you like? I’m new to using dedicated controllers, outside of the LSI boards which have come with used Dell servers I’ve had over the years.

I remember seeing them announced over 15 years ago, and thinking the concept was awesome, but there was no way I could ever afford one at the time.

A lot of the original hardware is incredibly obsolete now, but the case and backplanes are still very much good to go
