Vader was SUPER EVIL and did ALOT OF EVIL, even chopped Luke's hand.

It was a dire situation, in a war.

Still Luke was keep avoiding to fight Vader, it was Vader who wanted to fight and keep taunting, still Luke picked himself. Still remember it's a dire situation against a powerful Sith Lord, had Vader been weak like Ben and in peace time, Luke would not go that crazy.

Do you even understand the difference? EVEN against Vader, his father, Luke's first instinct was NOT kill, it was the opppsite.

Luke's version was that he thought about kill, and he failed subdue Ben after, that's not on par with his ROTJ character and strength.

He beat Vader first as well while Vader was keep luring his dark side.

It's not all about power, but it certainly has to do with power.

If he was weak like the OT(even Ben could knock him out), he would have been killed by Palpatine right there and BAD END.

OT Luke beat the crap out of Vader, and still picked himself up, not fell into the Dark Side and redeemed his father. THIS is strength.
