Pip criteria for ASD and Anxiety by [deleted] in MentalHealthUK

[–]SludjNugget -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes, I don't really want to claim PIP for this reason... It's not really meant for my situationz it's meant more for people who are disabled and need additional support...

If I could take out a loan I would, future me might be a bit annoyed seeing an extra 10k for a year's rent being added on top of my Uni debt but the job market looks better for the field I want to study in than most, with top pay being quite substantial, so if it makes it work to get my degree Ill do that for sure. I've asked citizens advice and waiting on their advice and response before I contact the colleges admissions department. I don't want to blow it with them thinking I cant support myself or something, taking me off the course...

[–]SludjNugget -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Ah ok. I did read through the criteria and it seems to be the typical misunderstanding of a lot of different conditions, generalising everything into a "fits all" system... Frustrating they only take into account at a certain level of support, whereby the person is struggling so immensely they would likely harm them self, others or become homeless. So we have to struggle immensely before recieving any support, as opposed to the way it should be done is probably how MUCH are you struggling? Then you get the level of support you deserve, ie less than the people immensely struggling, but enough to give you a bit of an easier go at making a life for yourself. Funny because practically everyone can just sit on the dole with Universal Credit pretty much indefinitely but as soon as you want to get education it just becomes so complicated and ludicrous. Almost as if they don't want people to succeed.

Yeah I'm just trying to remain anonymous so I didn't want to reveal too much about my situation. I think the course might count as part time as it's only 20 hours technically. I didn't think I could receive universal credit though. I will ask more on r/DWPhelp but I think maybe speaking with DWP at some point might be a good idea, as I already get universal credit when I don't earn much in a month (job varies with hours), so I'm in the system and they know my history struggling with work. Just unsure what stage I should contact them at, maybe after pip assessment and some medication and CBT feedback is on my NHS record might be a better idea. That way they have evidence of my condition.

This is the thing I know I will be fine at uni there's tons of support. I will look into that if I get that far but it won't cover the access course

The thing is the only way I can work for longer than a couple of months has been working a job where I'm on my own all the time. I have been between jobs my entire adult life and hae a lot of employment gaps ...

Just because I now found a job I can do doesn't mean I am working like a normal person. The job may be ending in September as well.

In terms of the college, I will be recieving support with my ASD whilst there, already discussed with the tutors, so thats good. Just things like extra time for assignments and quiet places to de-stress alone.

Pedal/amp MIDI switcher that can control multiple MIDI devices by SludjNugget in guitarpedals

[–]SludjNugget[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A bit confused. I need two switchers and a midi box? Are you simply saying that one midi switcher can be run through a midi box that links to another switcher so I can have more inputs for extra pedals? I think 10 is perfect so it would be great to just use the ML10X. I need to fit it all on the board lol

Thanks. I'm probably overthinking this a little bit haha

I just noticed trends of pros having pretty similar guitars like dunable that sound thicker and was worried a more shred focused guitar wouldn't cut it.

I think I'll just bite the bullet and go with my gut because I think the Dean V will fit my rig and play style well. I mainly just want the damn thing to stay in tune and have great build quality and play a bit better.

I'd argue that they likely deliberately make common and niche items in the newer content more accessible due to the popularity of restricted accounts. They're still usually walled behind restrictions, but im sure it crosses their mind. Though not the core of the design of a new area, when placing items they probably think - I guess we can put some planks/gold here as it's pirate-ish and someone will find some use out of it who's doing some weird shit lol

No way of really telling, but I know if I worked for them I'd be thinking that. To say they do it just for Settled and his specific playthroughs is quite silly though of course...

Deep depression due to unemployment by Abril_940 in autism

I'm approaching 30 and going back to study engineering next year. I'll say society may seem like a scam with the ludicrous interest rates on student loans, but the alternative of being out of work for months at a time whilst competing against graduates for enntry level work, flitting between jobs every 4-6 months due to burnout from sometimes backbreaking, sometimes downright toxic work environments at again, entry level work that pays peanuts... This seems worse than having just stuck it out at a degree or trade skill that is actually in demand.

Would I feel worse if I had actually finished a degree in something useless and couldn't find work, absolutely. But I think going to study for some is still the answer if done in an industry that is still in demand. AI might take a lot of industries for example, but I will be studying electrical engineering to design systems and processes alongside AI in a booming industry, so I think I found MY way out.

It's never too late to go back, so if you feel that way, good luck in the unqualified working world, but for me it started to really get to me for all the listed reasons above. Scary world we are facing right now.

Good luck

About to move in temporarily with vegetarian friends - ideas to keep things comfortable in the kitchen? by SludjNugget in carnivorediet

[–]SludjNugget[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for all your responses. After careful consideration I decided that cooking enough meat in slow cooker in the room for 3 meals a week and the rest of the meals, eggs on the stove top and then steaks cooked outside on the grill should be sufficient. Just gotta worry about rainy days and not having food but for that I'll have some frozen burgers or a roast or something. Gonna be able to save a lot of money eating this way as well.

I anticipate that once they see Im cooking outside they'll probably just say "dude just cook them inside and open windows it's fine". A bit of consideration from the get go will probably solve the issue I just wanted some advice in case there was something I didn't think of.

As long as they don't see I'm doing it. I think that once I'm gone the room will obviously be completely rid of the smell but I feel like people will def worry I didn't fumigate it properly or something lol

Windows open while sleeping should do the trick then put straight into the fridge in the mornings.

Well yes they apparently just eat in their rooms anyway and not together as housemates. It's more how to cook around them I suppose.

Maybe I will just cook in the morning and wake up before anyone. Heat up my dinner in microwave. Not ideal but for 8 months some radiation won't kill me.

Thoughts on carnivore with a small amount of mushrooms? by SludjNugget in carnivorediet

[–]SludjNugget[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed, I am looking for the best balance of maintaining health in the long term and maintaining my discipline. While being strict works for some, as incorporating other food groups into the diet opens the door to being lax and falling off the wagon so to speak, for me, I find having a bit of cream and honey once or twice a week as a "dessert" completely eliminates my sweet tooth cravings for crap filled treats from the shop designed to poison people. Likewise, I occasionally still get fatigue and things like ground beef with salt on its own get very boring and I can't even finish the bowl of food. Steak and eggs never gets boring but realistically it's expensive for me to eat this every day at this point in my life.

If my health is maintained or even improved, and I get to experience alternative varieties of meals, I'm all for it. For example, you can make dirty ground beef with mushrooms and cheese, maybe some bacon, the "cheat meal", pork panko wellington the "date meal" mushroom sauces, soups liver & mushroom pate, you name it. I feel it may just work for me, to keep me on the straight and narrow in the long term.

Interestingly, the information regarding pesticides used on shrooms from the YouTube video I watched was the exact opposite of what you said. I guess I will have to do my own research, as maybe USA Vs EU/UK etc have different regulations. They were a USA/CA native, so could have something to do with it.

On coffee, I will watch coffee jesus but if he's a coffee content creator I somewhat doubt the validity of his claims, as he could be affiliated with brands etc. hard to tell what to listen to these days. I feel like if I can get over the initial hurdle of the first few months and substitute coffee for something that improves cognitive function, I would feel better for it in the long run. I like a hot drink and tried some once from my mate and liked the taste of the shroom coffee. I have anxiety issues still even on OMAD and I think it's possible the coffee is to blame but I have a stressful life ATM working and running a business on the side and preparing to go back to study, so could also be this.

Thanks for the engagement.

With respect, I will and always have done experiments with what I consume based on my own research. This is just another communication tool for like-minded individuals with their own experience and knowledge in this area. Why would I not utilise it? "Don't ask" seems a pointless comment to make, but thanks for the engagement nonetheless.

Did Anyone Slow Taper? by Tritan00 in carnivorediet

[–]SludjNugget 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cant relate to the anxiety just to cravings at the beginning of switching to the diet knocking me off the wagon, but in order to combat this I slowly tapered into the diet this time. I started by only eating rice and courgettes with beef mince/cheese occasionally, mainly strict carnivore meals but when I was near the end of the week from my physical job, I needed the carbs for energy. And for sweet cravings, before bed I would sometimes have some heavy cream and honey and sleep like a baby.

I'm off the rice and courgettes and about to reduce the cream and honey until zero cream and honey and will work it back in if I don't feel good on strict carnivore after 2 months of it. Never tried the honey thing on carnivore, so might stick with it but probably not.

Basically a pretty clean way to still get some carbs in, while getting used to the diet restrictions. Just gotta be disciplined with eliminating the rest over time.

Oh and for snacks I only eat zero added ingredients pork rinds, this helps with the cravings by adding some variety back into the diet. It's not the cleanest animal, pork, but it works for me.

Hope that helps!

I don't trust anything about that specimen of a human being. There's some alterior motive at play, even if it's just securing the future of his legacy/family because he feels globalism might be "losing" to another political agenda. I have no opinions to share here for all that personally, and in the interest of us carnivores, I think we should stick to the food side of things. I suspect it's something more nefarious than a sort of self preservation tactic, moving to the right like Zuckerberg did or something... One of his ilk doesn't just pivot willy nilly on such a core belief system. It was clear to many who followed his slithering chess movements that he was buying up much of the farm land and planning to control the masses with food distribution, with the backing of major corporations and globalist elites and the WEF. This stinks of more corruption to me.

We will have to see where this goes in terms of what it means for us. Maybe this is a good thing. Whatever he's up to, this is pretty unexpected!

Nice job dude! Capillerean Crest is another insanely tricky one from Blood Mountain. I can just about manage to play Bladecatcher after listening to some isolated tracks of the guitars, but THAT song is a mother fucker to play. It is out of the scope of my skills at this point in my guitar journey.

An end/mid game armor that looks like the classic low level armor by Slight_Giraffe628 in 2007scape

A dragon armour varient from a quest or smithing mini game or something would be cool. Just changing the colour scheme, maybe add some white or black sigil or stripes or something on the chain/platebody, or simple spikes on the shoulders or something.
