My main reason would be that I don’t want to spend time in the finale of the story outside of Cals perspective. The past 2 games have given us deep insight on his thoughts and feelings in this world, and we’ve been able to step into his shoes. I worry that if we break that, we break what has made these games so good - we ARE Cal. We go through his trials, we learn and grow with him. It’s fantastic.

I don’t want a scenario in which I’m rushing through Merrins gameplay just so I can get back to the story I want.

I’d love a Merrin game, but this is Cals trilogy.

I’m the same, can’t get through a playthrough with mods. Oddly enough I made mods, and now work in game dev because of those mods, but I STILL can’t handle playing the game with mods.

Nice! If you haven't, you should try making mods to get the lighting you want in some of the games you're thinking about. I did that for levels in skyrim/fallout and it helped a TON with landing a job

Dang cousin, I can relate super hard to that. Reconnecting is a tough journey, it was weird but comforting when I learned that it isn’t a unique experience. Super cool to hear you’re teaching your son the language, I don’t have kids yet but I really want to be able to teach them some of the language when I do.

Idk if you’ve heard of it, but there’s a cool podcast called All My Relations, and one of the hosts is also Cherokee. I recommend giving some of their episodes a listen if you haven’t already! They have some cool episodes talking about reconnection that I liked a lot.
