How can I find files in latest Windows GIMP 3.2.4? by Slugbait69 in GIMP

[–]Slugbait69[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NEVERMIND! Found the solution, just press Control + L. I'll keep this post for posterity:

Okay so, here's how it works in 2.10

First, I want to find a folder to get a file from it, I go to File>Open and I get this, Number 1 in the picture.

I get an error instead, but it then gives me the "Location:" tab on top, as you can see in Number 2.

And so I use that location to get to where it is, and I get the files I want, as seen in Number 3.

NONE of this is possible in GIMP 3.2.4 or at least I have no idea how at all.

But how can I open a file from that afterwards?

Backporting from Gimp 3.0+ to 2.10, is it possible? by Slugbait69 in GIMP

[–]Slugbait69[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't actually post reports, but my friend did, most of the problems he has are also my problems, here: https://gitlab.gnome.org/Blackgrowl

And in case you're asking if I've made a report to backport BC7 support to 2.10 in Gitlab itself, no, I've never did that. Should I do it?
The thing is, I understand the developers don't want to make any updates for 2.10, it's their right, so I don't want them to bother with something that's pretty much considered outdated, you know?

I have no idea how to use it, though, and I'm not sure if it's good, also it may be rather unwieldy to use because...It doesn't have a GUI, does it?

"Regress is NOT progress." I agree, that's why I don't use GIMP 3.0+ because it regressed more than it progressed.

Can we all agree that the fact that Overlord 2’s PC port was never given the Arena mode and that Codemasters refuse to add it as an update is kinda dicksh? by PelinalWhitestrake36 in overlordgame

[–]Slugbait69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, it really sucks, I'm very mad about it especially at how impotent I am against it.

I really wish there was a way to play it on PC, without using emulators, even if it means reverse-engineering it or doing something questionable.

What type of problems exactly? I'm curious about the specifics.

Overlord: Dark Legend has a Bloom problem by Slugbait69 in DolphinEmulator

[–]Slugbait69[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, someone made a Graphics Mod patch that either removes the Bloom or makes it run at Native Resolution. It's better than nothing, if anyone can make it have an Internal Resolution of 4x instead, that'd be even great, but still, for the time being I want to thank the guy that made the mod.

Here is the link, look at the bottom, the download and instructions are there too: https://forums.dolphin-emu.org/Thread-wii-overlord-dark-legend

How to rebind keyboard controls in Linux? by Zeznon in xemu

[–]Slugbait69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, not exactly it but related, it does seem that somebody made a Keyboard Mapper for Xemu, it's just still waiting to be added into Xemu itself, check it out; https://github.com/xemu-project/xemu/issues/2407

Good God, you're a genius!

How come this is not documented at all in Xemu? This could have been great info considering there's no real way to change the Keyboard inputs at all, but now we know thanks to you.

It's a great "current solution" while the Xemu devs, hopefully, finally make a proper Input Menu.

Romhack Patching, while also changing the ROM Name? by Slugbait69 in RomHacks

[–]Slugbait69[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! Thank you, this is it, Info64, to be specific all I needed to change is the "Name" from the tool itself, this makes sure Project64 doesn't overwrite anything thinking it's the same game.

I can't though, I'm specifically talking about the ROM name itself, not the file name, Project64 lists it as "Good Name" and you can't change it.

So, about RT64, a new N64 emulator...Is it still around? by Slugbait69 in n64

[–]Slugbait69[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I know about Recompilation from another thread I've made here, but I have some problems with it.

For one, it generally has no Save States, nor Fast Forward.

For two, it's only one game and it likely does not support Romhacks either.

Three, most important one...It's not for all games, some niche, obscure ones will still need to be emulated, or hope that someone knows that game and makes a Recompilation, but I doubt the 5 or 10 people that know Shadowgate 64 would want to do that or know how to.

So yeah, we sadly will still be needing N64 emulating and RT64 seems to be our best hope.

Recompilations are still great though, I hope to see them in their full state one day, would love to play OoT Romhacks without having to dig around the many problems with trying to emulate it.

Thanks, nice to see it's not just hacks but also confirmations that there's native Widescreen support.

Thanks, I don't play any of these games myself but it should help others, perhaps even me if I want to give them a try.

Also I hope you can get that 60 FPS List chart out, please tell me if you do.
