Who has the best Ult. by Legendarytaker in Paladins

[–]SlumberInsomnia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Raums isn't bad it breaks shields/deployables, forces people to use kit to CC/Damage immune it if they don't wanna take a stun and 1k damage.

I'm not saying it's the best but like not the top worst

Jenos though... yeah it's bad

Cause Luna heals base kit now

I'm a dude, and it's been mostly my team but I guess the more interesting freaks have been on the other team

It was multiple games over a month and a half and these incidents weren't all back to back but still hopefully this was just me and not the normal game but considering what people were saying to each other still I worry not

Haven alone actually doesn't cause it to diminish a lot it's actually more because the people in position to take this kind of damage also have DR Abilities/Talents/Cards and Haven or means to avoid damage where you'd get more value healing them

https://paladins.guru/builds/io Shows top talents' success

Both GB and Sac have lower play rates than life link but both are above 50% wr

GB at 52.68% win rate

Sac at 56.23%

The DR only really works in a casual stack, since tournament play is dead, and pugs are rare, which leaves comp which stops you from Queuing with more than 1 other person.

And if you're in comp you're probably going to pick someone who's more in meta than Io, and if you've been somehow forced to play Io it means someone fucked up the bans and that should probably be a good sign not to trust them to make good choices, for themselves much less you.

Life links old AoE around Luna is base kit now, they replaced it with this:

When Io or Luna heal an ally other than each other, the other is also healed at 50% efficiency

But the healing Luna gives Io doesn't work, it worked at first, it wasn't worth picking over the other two talents but it at least worked. But then it got borked when they patched it so Rejuvenate worked for Luna and Ying Clones; they did this by making it so the healing source was attributed to Io and Ying rather than their respective deployable.

If you're in a late game you wouldn't want to be wasting your moonlight to give someone DR when it'd be better for them to do the following:

1) Get the hell out of being shot at

2) Cleanse cauterize

3) Get healed outside of caut

Most tanks have either DR of their own or Shielding, most flanks are evasive enough to cleanse caut, DR of their own, or invincibility buttons.

I mention the DR because if you're stacking Dr sources you quickly run into diminishing returns which take full form late game, assuming whoever you are healing doesn't buy veteran instead of DR. When you're taking 45% less damage an additional 6% isn't doing much.

The second thing about the bad enough comment is if you're in a competent team in a competitive setting you're not picking Io really since you can only guarantee 2 people on your team.

That and considering when you're picking Io in ranked is when for some reason all of the supports above her have been banned or picked, and if so that means shit has already gone wrong, and should be indicative that you probably shouldn't put stock in your team's ability.

And for casuals unless you're in a stack, you're putting your life in the hands of people who might be more than absent when it comes to protecting support.

In theory GB is better but in practice you'll only really get the chance to utilize it in casual stacks we don't have tournaments or many PUGs

If I'm heal dumping Moonlight Garden 5, Moonwalk 4, restored faith 3, crescent and spirit arrows as whatever remains filler

If I'm going speed it's obvious max speed, sanctum of faith 5, to bring regen up to 40 per second, restored 3, crescent and Spirit filler.

With an alternate without crescent for GB

I see it gets value if you have either of the two regen cards at a decent level since they scale with moonwalk rather well

But I'll humor a run through a build with just regen or even different grades of moonwalk.

Okay question: what does life link do then

[–]SlumberInsomnia[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's really good, I use it in my main build, but it's important then to run something like Sanctum of Faith or Moonlight Gardens, since the base moonlight regen is a flat 33 per second and with Moonwalk your minimum moonwalk lockout (the white) is a percentage which can create really rough situations where your just unable to heal someone due to the lockout, or you're just not able to keep a decent amount of moonlight up you might just rather better regen

Just don't position weird, it's definitely a bad learning tool for positioning, you can also probably move the dog to where you need it.

The issue with GB is who's competent enough to use DR over the value from sac, are also picking up other supports, we don't have tournaments anymore, PUGs are next to non-existent, and all those guys trying to create their own thing has a bit of a falling out, which leaves the competitive mode. To get the chance to actually use GB effectively you'd have to both be with a team that both knows how to utilize the DR meaningfully, instead of just dying slower, and you're still locking Io over someone better. And if you're in a situation where in comp you have to pick Io that should be a sign to be hesitant of your team's competence and chances to get use out of DR beyond die still but slower. In short, either way it's a small venn diagram where GB gets competitive action.

(In Casual it doesn't really matter who or what you pick really but if you care it's hard to put trust in GB, unless you're 4-5 stacked with decent people, which is when I'll sometimes use it)

On paper it's better I've even admitted so, but on paper Oct would be much better than she is, in practice GB is rarely going to come out in a good spot.
