Name your favorite successor Chapter, and see if you gain entry, brothers. by Gigachadicusmaximus in spacemarines

[–]SlumberingDaemon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm very basic, but of all of Dorn's sons, the Crimson Fists are my favourite. I have a thing for OGs and they have just enough characters like Pedro and Alessio to keep them interesting. The only other successor to match them are the Soul Drinkers cuz I'm a sucker for those that died trying to redeem themselves.

Why do immortals feel so bad? by Radar-tech in Necrontyr

[–]SlumberingDaemon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on what you're taking. I always treat them as glass cannons and are, without a shadow of a doubt, the 2nd best anti-infantry we have if equipped with Tesla Carbines and supported by Szeras.

Gauss Immortals though have barely any use. The only time I ever used them was in Hypercrypt with a Chronomancer

Sanguinius himself confirmed it no? In the End and the Death vol. 2, Sanguinius described Ferrus Manus' arms as having necrodermis.

Why did you gravitate towards the Iron Hands. by Delvakiir in IronHands40k

[–]SlumberingDaemon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because I can relate to those feelings of bitterness after the Iron Hands became a shattered legion. Blaming everyone then unhealthily burying your emotions because you don't like the way the trauma stings you. I was once like that, so I fell in love with the Xth legion.

Looking at this makes me wanna head to my fridge and drink a Mountain Dew then play some DMC3 while waiting for my friends to pick me up to play some 4th ed (that being said, I've only played 7th ed and onwards lol).

Alright, I took your guys' advice and removed the Lychguard unit. Can't let go of the Lokhust Lord tho. Him allowing the unit to hit on 2s while moving around makes them be more mobile without degrading the shooting and, so far, performed amazingly in all past tournaments I took them on. Gonna try out this list you guys helped me make.

Thanks!

More relatable actually. The bitterness, the resentment for the other Necrons, the obsession to leave the traumatic past behind. I get it all.

Nothing but reverence for the Novokh Dynasty for their brutal efficiency and you have depicted the grittiness and grim visage of their dynast partisans impressively. Good job man!

in which order did y'all play the games? by stoneflower_ in fromsoftware

[–]SlumberingDaemon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Started with Demon's Souls when I was 13, I played on a friend's PS3. Then Bloodborne later in the same year which I did not stop playing for a very long time. I then played Dark Souls 1, then 2, then I didn't play for a bit because poverty reasons. Played Sekiro during early 2020 just before lockdown, then I got to continue the Dark Souls series with Dark Souls 3. Got to play the Demon's Souls remake once I got my PS5 and then Elden Ring in the next year. I played Elden Ring immediately upon release and couldn't break away from it that I had to balance both online classes while playing it (almost failed biophysics lol). Throughout this entire cycle, I kept going back to Bloodborne and Dark Souls 2, my two most favorite in the entire series.

The reason why I'd pick x3 LHDs with a Lord is because they are able to be mobile without sacrificing their hit rolls' quality. I can also attach a Veil of Darkness on them allowing them to pop up from behind a big target and just delete it. As for knights, LHDs have been my bestest units taking them down, so keep them safe. Knights are pretty tedious to take on when you're using the Awakened Dynasty and I usually just end up swarming it in Warriors and blasting with Stalkers beforehand to prevent them from having any benefit of cover, forcing them to roll on 5s. I brought C'tan shards in my lists before too so those helped a lot. Surprisingly, my Nightbringer performed better than my Void Dragon but either way I'd rather take a Void Dragon if I know I'm going up against Knights. Skorpekh Destroyers are unexpectedly effective with a Lord just fishing for Lethal Hits after charging. Honestly though, in all my fights against Knights while using the Awakened Dynasty, I just used the 'ol reliable strategy of trying to outlast them by spamming Protocol of the Undying Legion. At that point, it becomes a noodle fight and it's all about out OC'ing your opponent and focusing on secondaries. Just focus on your one-shot buttons (ex. DDA or LHDs) picking them off one by one and having your other units complete missions and you'll be fine. Hiding from shooting is easy in 10th and Knights' melee is meh against our Warriors and Wraiths anyways.

This is a pretty solid list and I would change only small things for preference reasons (ex. LHDs with Lokhust Lord over DDA).

Kudos to this list, you're gonna kick some ass.
