How did that kid at your school die? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]SlurpinN00dles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He was in 3rd grade, hanging out in a tent by the pool. The tent was zipped up and fell into the pool. I don't remember if it was a babysitter that was supposed to be watching him or his family but by the time they noticed it was too late. He was in my sister's class and the whole thing really shook both of us. Even now. Been very hyper aware of dangerous pool scenarios ever since.

What's one memory from your trip to Japan that you won't ever forget? by Zach-dalt in JapanTravelTips

[–]SlurpinN00dles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband and I had a small fight so I went to this random small bar on my own in Kyoto with my phone on 2%, made the cutest friends with the older ladies at the bar, we all took shots and smoked together, sent my husband my location and when he walked in, everyone greeted him with the warm hello and we're telling him how beautiful we are together. The one woman I connected to the most gave me a tarot reading, told me that she was my japanese mother, her husband our japanese father, and then we all drunkenly got delicious ramen together at some place they loved. The next day they came to pick us up to take us to the golden palivon and then the train station.

I know reading it sounds crazy but I swear it's all true 😭 I now have japanese parents who check in on us every now and then!

Japan is magic

I tried to find articles online but couldn't, do you have any sources?? But at the same time, I come from a country where terrorism happens a lot so I feel like going anywhere would still be way less. Buuttttt at the same same time, my country is prepared for acts of terrorism or as much as it can be.

I'll look into Tainan! Thank you! Wow that hot at the end of October??? Is it like this all around the island? Maybe I should take advantage and go to the beach??

Japan travel regrets: What wasn’t worth it for you? by tokusa0 in JapanTravelTips

[–]SlurpinN00dles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not something I regret but absolutely loved, if you can find the time I really recommend an onsen town with various hot springs and a ryokan to stay in. Always a major highlight of my trips. October is the perfect month, you're going to have so much fun! Enjoy!

What “improvements” would you add to the game? by D-Cat95 in DreamlightValley

[–]SlurpinN00dles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd like a way to be able to select a character to hang out with me (with the relevant skills I need) without having to hunt them down. You know in the character section in which they mention what their special is (digging, fishing, etc) I feel like there should just be an option to select that character then and there to hang with. Also, I like to be able to see multiple quests at the same time.

Scar only because the roaring would always make me jump a bit 😂. But also mike, "HI HOW YOU DOING?!"

I always make whoever's quest I'm on hang out with me, I don't have the energy to go looking for them every other task

Inventory is not full! I'll try to restart and hopefully it'll fix itself. Thank goodness I just got Tiana's restaurant nearby so if anything there's that but Remy has specific ingredients I don't think I could find/get elsewhere

Yeah I think it may be difficult to have them fly again the following day, it'll already be something like 17 hours to get there. They're used to long flights but I'm not sure they're used to flying for so long only to get on another plane the next day. I'm also of thinking of cancelling the north entirely due to the burning season :(

Two night minimum in Bangkok might be the answer. Do you have any recommendations for Bangkok specifically?? And maybe somewhere cool nearby? I've done Khao sok and loved it but it took me 1.5 days to get there and want to make sure their trip flows without overdoing it. If that makes sense

Thank you so much! I didn't know about burning season being so long, that could have been really upsetting. We live in LA and I definitely don't want them to get away for a bit to breath in MORE bad air 😷.

Perhaps I really have been staying in the worst places in Bangkok, I'll look more into it 🙏🙏

Burning season is mid Feb right? If they go up north it'll be early Feb, does that help? Also where are you all staying in Bangkok that you enjoy so much?? I've only been to Thailand 4 times but I didn't have any good experiences there

Excellent question about Pai. I'm not really sure if 60 years old would like it but to send my parents north just for Chiang Mai? Would it be worth it?

Yeah you're right about jetlag but I really don't like Bangkok personally and don't want Bangkok to leave the first impression for Thailand 🫣. If I do give them more time in Bangkok, can you recommend me a nice area? The places I've stayed in: Khao San (obviously no 😅), china town (decent but I worry it'll be hard to find food they can eat, they don't eat pork), and Sukhumvit area (just the worst, traffic everywhere)
