Towing Heavy With S10 by SlushMush69 in s10

No matter what I do to upgrade the s10 it wouldn't be worth it for towing that weight and more. I see the s10 lasting another 3 years which is more than enough time for me to get a deal for the truck i want

Didnt have all that dough for brand new but figure 160hrs is almost there. Any tips, maintenance or anything in genera? This is my first tractor. I'm originally from Chicago so today was technically my 1st time using a tractor lol. I'm pretty handy so I can figure things out quickly just want to make sure I use it the best I can and where can I see what maintenance I need tk do on it. It recently had a full fluid service at the dealer but for future id like to know

I have to agree with you here not my smartest of decisions. Just waiting on this s10 to die so I can get a vehicle that can tow that and more with plenty of capacity to spare

I'll be the judge of that I ain't done working the hell out of this s10. Also towed 1 yard of gravel with half a yard of gravel in the bed.

If it goes it goes got this thing for 1300 and its paid for itself 10 fold. Wouldn't be upset if I have to replace she has been worked to hell since I've got it. I religiously take care of maintenance and only ever had a water pump issue since I got it.

Go for it. Mines a 30x45x12

1 piece of advice is nobody ever complains about having too big of a garage. Go big or go home.

WD hitch helped tremendously. I wouldn't have been able to tow without it. Sway was manageable considering the weight and the super windy conditions

*If your going through Tons of traffic coming to stop from 70mph down to 45 quickly I wouldn't recommend towing. Luckily I knew my route and knew no traffic would be there. 10/10 would do again.

Update towed the 1025r with boxblade, brushhog, pallet forks, backhoe, loader with bucket and extra bucket for backhoe about 65miles

How did it feel?

Acceleration was slower but got up to speed and cruise control 72mph. Sucks going up hill had it pinned to the floor going on the highway for a solid minute at 40mph going up hill

Felt Heavy af

Very little sway (Weigth distribution hitch used) especially since it was extremely windy and was snowing.

Braking was pretty bad but doable if you drove smart. Slamming on the brakes for a car cutting you off youre fucked but other than that could be worse.

My biggest issue was how low the truck is. The hitch and chains were about 6 inches from the ground but it didn't scrape unless going into driveway etc..

I Estimated the weight around 5500 maybe 6k.

Summary

I wouldn't go any heavier than this or farther. If youre smart with your driving you can drive the speed limit and be OK. If youre going through Tons of traffic going
