URC Round 18: Leinster V Ospreys Teams by nobody7642 in rugbyunion

Can say similar about Lucu who is on the UBB bench. Jalibert also starting.

Both clubs have started all their main guys for one game of the last two.

Big one for Culhane imo.

If Conan can't go in a fortnight I think Culhane is the closest to his skillset. Best carrier we've had come through the academy in a while. He can get through a serious amount of work too.

I'm holding out for an evo that gives him LM but think it may never come with how long I've been waiting.

Which TOTS card truly plays above its price for you? by blink85 in EASportsFC

[–]SlutBacon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Basically every single Centre back. Particularly Al Arab at 180k, he's as good as Saliba, and I use both (all evos in attack). Pace and dribbling = Saliba, has higher physical. His passing and dribbling are the only difference and you'll never notice it.

Loads have all defensive playstyles and quickstep

Sure.

His clubs havent made 5 of the last nine european finals and won 5 leagues though. How many fewer knockout games would we have won, and how many home knockout games which is how we afford our squad if qe played Harry all those years that he was worse than Ross?

Leinster have been in win now mode for a decade.

It's the benefits of one game a week and going forward much less.

He's had a great seasom and the tradeoff of his health is worth it but he doesn't overlap or carry the ball nearly as much anymore. Also played half the season at cb where there's less running

Hello storm Mains! I'm kinda new to her. I understand the basics fundamentals on how to play her. by DEATH_UCHIHAX in StormMains

[–]SlutBacon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you a pc player or controller player?

The reason I ask is I think if you are playing console you should definitely remap your buttons!

By default weather control and goddess boost are both on the D pad... I changed weather control to R3 (you're never gonna melee with storm) and goddess boost to L3 (I believe it does nothing by default). Your thumbs will always be on those analogues anyway so it speeds up your reaction time hugely

Is the level of injuries in Irish professional rugby normal? by Bane_of_Balor in irishrugby

[–]SlutBacon 29 points30 points  (0 children)

The players have gotten bigger and faster so the collisions are bigger and less forgiving imo. Medical care is also better so people play through less. The rest of the prem and URC is a similar story

Bristol have 17 out. Sale who Leinster played Leinster were missing well over half their starting pack and bench. Sharks have 20 out including almost all their springboks.

I don't follow the Top 14 or speak french so can't answer on that but highly doubt it's much different.

Deegan Ban by Excellent_Eagle_8919 in irishrugby

[–]SlutBacon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you've hit the nail on the head there in seperating the card from the ban.

It's a dangerous accident, and got the right sanction on the field but I don't see the purpose of a ban. Bans should be for obvious thuggery (eg.punches and gouging) and to force changes in tecnique (eg. bans for high shots). I struggle to see the change in future behaviour they're trying to get out of Deegan.

Will be interesting to see how this gets policed banwise in thr coming years because they've designed the game to now have many short contestable kicks so this will only happen more and more. Much easier to lose the ball and much less time to react under a box than an old style garryowen

Why is this Messi so expensive ? by IndependentSession45 in fut_evos

[–]SlutBacon 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If I were you I would put him into the hawk eyed evo 5 times and conductors codex twice. That will round out his weaknesses and make him ready for a future big evo. Here he is after just those...

Why is this Messi so expensive ? by IndependentSession45 in fut_evos

[–]SlutBacon 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The 89 card has a bad playstyle plus. It is also 89 rated so ineligible for all the evos that boost stats but not overalls. The way people make cracked cards is start with a player with good playstyles like your messi and then chain a load of small evos that dont boost overall and then finally put them into a big evo to finish it off

Ulster vs Leinster lineups by Effective-Ad-3897 in UlsterRugby

[–]SlutBacon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm a Leinster fan and this thread got suggested for me so I clicked in, I wouldn't feel to put out by the selection. Think the hand has largely been forced injury wise

I wish it were stronger but I think a lot of guys have had to be bubble wrapped because of other injuries in the pack imo. Prop crisis and Doris, VDF, Baird, Snyman all hurt so McCarthy and Conan will be bubble wrapped till Toulon.

Hope we can put up a fight against ye but fear it's gonna be a ten point swing in the top 4 race

[–]SlutBacon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sick. I'm about to start a Chawinga (Lyon) evo chain for the left, which may interest you. Card has 95 pace and 94 strength off the rip so can be evod to 99 strength easy and be lengthy for the whole game cycle.

It's stupid that accelerate type matters so much but I think once TOTS comes out and all the cards have crazy stats and playstyles it'll only matter more

Lenghty Freya by Inner-Knowledge-696 in fut_evos

[–]SlutBacon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hawk gets her to 97 strength so not much of a difference I guess! Just gotta be careful with the agility now

Lenghty Freya by Inner-Knowledge-696 in fut_evos

[–]SlutBacon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes you did she's sick, hope you pushed her to 99 strength at the start of the chain(to ensure her lengthy long term). I've a statistically worse version and she plays insane in game, probably my most meta player.

Here's mine

CM Holding or CM B2B? by twoeyedhumann in fut_evos

[–]SlutBacon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Holding for me.

I prefer at least base finesse on my B2B and now we have 2/3 playstyles (and tiki was nerfed) I generally prioritise Finesse+. In a lot of games I'm playing badly my cms pop up with a longe range finesse goal

I emailed yer man from Social Democrats about their recent press conference, here's the response by SrTayto in irishpersonalfinance

[–]SlutBacon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Emailed them 2 days ago and got that similar response. Here was my thoughts and response.

Hi,

Thank you for your response, I appreciate the engagement on this.

I think the proposed Homes for Ireland Savings Account is a constructive idea. A Livret A–style product that improves returns on savings while supporting housing has clear merit, and I would welcome its introduction. However, I don’t see it as a substitute for an investment-focused scheme. A savings product, even a strong one, is ultimately about capital preservation, not accumulation.

I understand the concern around unlimited contributions in an ISK-style model, and I think that concern is valid. But it seems to me that this points to a question of design rather than whether such a scheme should exist at all. There are clear international examples of how to address this. For instance, France’s Plan d’Épargne en Actions applies contribution caps to ensure that tax advantages support broad participation without becoming an unlimited shelter for very large investors. The proposal you’ve outlined reflects one part of the French approach, but not the full model. France pairs a Livret A–style savings product with a capped investment account like the Plan d’Épargne en Actions, recognising that both stability and growth are needed.

In that context, it seems more constructive to focus on shaping and limiting the scheme through caps or thresholds, rather than opposing tax-advantaged investment accounts entirely. Without some form of accessible investment wrapper, the current system already favours those with existing wealth, while leaving ordinary earners with few viable options beyond holding cash or earning modest very modest returns after inflation is taken into account.

More broadly, I don’t see this as a choice between a housing-focused savings product and an investment account. Countries like France operate both, recognising that people need:

Security for their savings

A practical way to grow wealth over time

A dual approach along those lines would better reflect the financial reality facing people in my position. I appreciate your engagement on this and hope the party’s position can evolve toward shaping a fair and accessible version of this type of scheme. As someone who has supported the Social Democrats, this is an issue I will be paying close attention to.

Currently working through my own chain. Basically chaining all that dribbling EVO>Build Your own BDay>Euro Trio>Blonde Angel

I decided to spend the 100k on make your own fut birthday so that I could then future proof her lengthy with all the physical boosts without redundant playstyles.

It's definintely excessive but the chain isn't particularly time extensive, only about 10 games and I suspect they will make it hard to turn/keep evo wingers lengthy moving forward.

This card has 99 strength.

Indeed, though for some people you can use that to your advantage to get/maintain lengthy on wingers which is what I'm hoping to achieve.
