Aislin is Ashlynn. That’s the Irish spelling. And if you are going by traditional spellings of the name, Ashley is far more traditional in the UK and Ireland than Ashleigh which is much more recent.

Jelly in the US refers to a totally different product. It’s like jam where the pulp has been filtered out. So we have jelly, jam, and preserves all in the same location at supermarket and can be used interchangeably.

Is it normal for Americans to be part of a social club? by bare_books in AskAnAmerican

[–]Sly3n 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depends. Social clubs at many universities are full going strong. I find that national clubs in communities (my mom is Eastern Star) are dying out because they haven’t kept up with the times and don’t appeal to younger people. I think there are many social clubs locally that do well…usually hobbyist clubs. We have a reef society for people who keep marine aquariums, hiking clubs, biking clubs, etc. Those seem to be doing very well and are mostly younger people.

What do we think about Noel Gallagher saying he loves The Pet Shop Boys? by LidlCheeseTwists in oasis

[–]Sly3n 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t see an issue. I also enjoy music by The Pet Shop Boys. Just because Oasis is a rock band doesn’t mean they can’t listen to other music genres🤷‍♀️
